Why You'll Love This Place

A Here Comes The Guide Wedding Venue Review
  • A Philadelphia icon opens its doors to couples for the first time. For nearly two centuries, the dynamic block at Broad and Pine served as a beacon of education: first as the Pennsylvania Institution for the Deaf, then for 130 years at the art school that became the University of the Arts. Following UArts' closure in 2024, Scout, the Philadelphia developer behind Bok, stepped up to reimagine and refresh the iconic space with the support of the community and mission-aligned local investors.
  • Ceremonies unfold in the 4-story Great Hall, an expansive enclosed courtyard topped with a glass roof. On one end, a modern staircase rises from the brick floor, and wraparound balconies on three sides create plenty of flexibility for seating and stages. Cocktail hour moves through the light-filled Broad Street Gallery gallery, or (during April, October, or November) a gingko-shaded garden courtyard—the colorful fall leaves make a dreamy backdrop for portraits.
  • Makers, thinkers, creators, and to-be-weds of all kinds are welcome here (and it's extra special for UArts alumni). Envisioned as a living hub for Philadelphia artists, it's a place that's rich with both history and forward-thinking creative vision. Integrated AV systems make your party look and sound fabulous, and delicious catering from 12th Street Catering keeps planning simple. With a prime Center City location, it's also convenient for locals and out-of-town guests, with nearby parking garages offering access.
