Why You'll Love This Place

A Here Comes The Guide Wedding Venue Review

Named “one of the best places to visit” by Travel & Leisure, Montecito boasts breathtaking scenery, fabulous weather, and an effortless style. All of this also makes it one of the country’s top choices for a destination wedding—especially now that the gorgeous renovation of the historic Montecito Club is complete.

Situated between the Santa Ynez Mountains and Pacific Ocean, this century-old property affords panoramic ocean, city, and mountain views. The recent three-year remodel has retained the club’s Spanish architecture, while incorporating beautiful Andalusian design elements and Moroccan influences. The grounds have been enhanced, too, with an abundance of lush greenery and meticulous landscaping. Although Montecito Club is a private facility, outside weddings and events are welcome.

A short drive along the club’s treelined golf course takes you to the Clubhouse and Event Lawn. The expansive lawn, which has spectacular, unobstructed views of the Santa Barbara harbor, downtown, and Santa Ynez Mountains, is a favorite spot for exchanging vows. But it’s also popular for an al fresco cocktail reception or dinner—in fact, you can host all three phases of your wedding here if you like!

The Clubhouse has plenty of its own charms to offer. Guests are welcomed through a private entrance into an ornate and colorful vestibule that opens into the Ballroom. Appointed with hand-carved African mahogany doors, a gold-leafed ceiling, antiques, and imported sconces, it’s ideal for larger parties. The adjoining Great Room, aptly named for its sumptuous décor and view overlooking the golf course and Pacific Ocean, provides a dramatic backdrop for a ceremony or cocktail reception. The space’s 10-foot sandstone fireplace, Swarovski crystal chandeliers, exotic furnishings, and hand-painted ceiling all contribute to the sense of epic grandeur.

An excellent choice for an intimate reception or rehearsal dinner is the Rotunda, a marvelous, circular space featuring a series of arched windows that showcase a 180-degree panorama of the golf course, Pacific Ocean, and Channel Islands. It’s often used in combination with the Ballroom, designed with a soaring trestle-beamed ceiling, vintage wrought-iron chandeliers, fireplace, and marble bar. An interior balcony does triple duty as a wonderful photo op, a nook for your DJ, or a place to toss the bouquet. The adjacent Lounge is perfect for dancing the night away.

Montecito Club’s renowned chef, Jamie West, will create a reception menu that’s as impressive as the club’s event spaces and views. With his extensive experience at some of the top dining establishments in the country, he’s able to offer a wide variety of cuisines. All dishes can be paired with vintages from a curated wine list thanks to the assistance of the club’s sommelier.

Additional benefits include a private dressing suite (complete with champagne and small bites), access to the grounds for photo ops, artisan chocolates to take home, and the undivided attention of the staff—they only host one event per day! If what you’re looking for is an A-list venue and VIP treatment, you’ll find that and much more at the the Montecito Club.
