Why You'll Love This Place

A Here Comes The Guide Wedding Venue Review

Standing at the edge of the ocean between Zuma State Beach and Broad Beach, the Malibu West Beach Club presides over one of the most desirable slices of real estate in Southern California. Glorious white sand stretches 100 yards from the clubhouse to the breaking surf, and from the second-floor deck there's a 180-degree panorama of the vast Pacific and miles of Malibu coastline. When it's clear, you can even see all the way to Catalina Island and the Channel Islands! As an added treat, whales migrate close to shore in the winter months, and almost daily you'll spot dolphins leaping out of the water as they swim by.

The unassuming two-story structure is partially screened from the street behind some evergreen trees, so you'd never know it was there if you didn't go looking for it. The large event space, which occupies the top floor and opens onto the spacious deck, is a bright and airy room with a high vaulted and arched ceiling. It features a driftwood-colored floor, walls and ceiling enhanced by white Georgette chiffon draping and twinkle lights, and three crystal chandeliers. Of course, the sunsets, visible through the club's glass façade, complement any décor.

Ceremonies are held on the 50-foot oceanfront deck, with that glorious ocean panorama as a backdrop. Afterwards, the newlyweds may go down to the beach for photos, while their guests remain on the deck to mingle during the cocktail hour and savor the view.

Dinner and dancing take place inside, where everyone can enjoy the fabulous ocean vista through the wall of floor-to-ceiling glass that separates the banquet room from the deck. And throughout the evening, diners are free to step outside to sip wine or champagne, linger over the setting sun or watch the stars come out in the night sky.

In addition to the banquet room, Malibu West also offers a versatile oceanfront bride's room. The club has outfitted it with thoughtful amenities to help the ladies primp and prepare—mirrors, vanities, dress racks and a blow dry bar. After the ceremony, it's also a quiet retreat where the bride and groom can have a moment alone together before the festivities begin, and during the reception this space can be set up as a kiddies' play area.

As if all this weren't enough, Malibu West also boasts a knowledgeable, friendly staff that will assist you in selecting vendors that match your vision and your budget. Given its beachfront location, genial ambiance and affordable prices, the Malibu West Beach Club is understandably in demand.
