- Set on Shelter Island, this sprawling resort's picturesque, Spanish-influenced buildings are flanked on one side by a sparkling harbor, and on the other by a grassy park overlooking the open bay. In true resort fashion, there's plenty to do here: borrow one of the hotel's fleet of turquoise beach cruisers for a spin around the island, rent paddle boards or kayaks from the on-site shop, or get pampered at the full-service spa.
- On the property's private beach, an expanse of pristine sand brings guests right to the water's edge, where they have a lovely view across the harbor of Point Loma's hills.
