Why You'll Love This Place

A Here Comes The Guide Wedding Venue Review

Camarillo Ranch, a historic mansion with peaceful, park-like grounds and a jazzy red barn, offers a rare setting for all kinds of events—especially weddings. The product of a romantic gesture, this turn-of-the-century Queen Anne-style estate was built in 1892 by Adolfo Camarillo for his wife Isabella. The splendid heritage structure and its remaining 4.5 acres have been lovingly restored, and today visitors tour the ranch’s original stables, stroll through the beautiful gardens, and explore a living museum expertly reconstructed inside the mansion. Your own friends and family can enjoy the same diversions when they attend special gatherings here.

If you come to wed at the ranch, you have a choice of three lovely outdoor ceremony sites. The East Garden, a manicured lawn surrounded by trees and luxuriant foliage, is highlighted by a bronze-roofed gazebo—a charming backdrop for exchanging vows. The West Garden, located on the opposite side of the mansion, features a fountain and its own lush border of trees. For larger ceremonies, the expansive Estate Lawn is the perfect setting. It’s shaded by mature trees—one in particular, a fabulous Moreton Bay fig, displays an intricate root system, symbolic of a knot well tied!

Follow your ceremony with a cocktail hour in one of the gardens while you snap a few photos as newlyweds. A grand staircase in the mansion’s foyer is a wonderful place to stage group portraits, and an alcove opposite showcases stained glass and scrollwork. You’ll also appreciate the Bride’s Room, a luxurious and modern salon where you and your wedding party can put the finishing touches to your finery.

Want to continue the festivities outdoors? The Estate Lawn is also an ideal spot for hosting a reception. Here, 600 or more guests can dine beneath magnificent trees, and this verdant space adapts to whatever mood you envision, from a posh garden soirée to a festive family occasion.

If you prefer to bring the party inside, then you can get your glam on in the ranch’s Red Barn. Originally constructed in 1905, a recent renovation has preserved the look of the classic American structure, complete with a brick-red façade trimmed in white and a whimsical weathervane on top. The barn’s rustic-chic ambiance is coupled with 21st-century amenities, so your guests won’t have to rough it. The neutral décor and soaring wooden rafters beg for your own elegant embellishments—antique chandeliers or icicle lights, for example. Spacious enough to hold 250 for a reception and still allow for dancing on the sealed concrete floor, the barn also boasts two sets of double doors and windows that can be opened to the country breeze.

The ranch’s exclusive caterer, Command Performance, is both skilled and seasoned, and Certified by The Guide! They'll deliver your preferred culinary experience with grace and style. Whether you’re dreaming of a nostalgic Victorian-inspired fête or a trendsetting bash with modern décor, this unique property provides a flexible, scenic venue for your landmark celebration.
