Why You'll Love This Place
A Here Comes The Guide Wedding Venue Review
From its breathtaking sanctuary to its wooded grounds, Valley Presbyterian Church draws on the purity of the natural world to enhance your spiritual experience. "There's a sense of peace here," explains one congregant. "You feel like a part of nature, and thus closer to God." Being welcoming and inclusive, this church invites all couples to celebrate their wedding here.
The heart of Valley Presbyterian Church is the awe-inspiring sanctuary—its simplicity and unpretentious beauty evoke serenity and wonder. Guests enter through four heavy wooden doors, richly carved with images of New Testament figures. Oak pews are upholstered with green fabric, and the A-frame pine ceiling is accented by dark beams. Polished riverbed stones in the washed aggregate floor echo the sanctuary's earthy aesthetic, while stone planters filled with greenery line the interior.
However, it's the soaring sanctuary windows behind the communion table that take your breath away. They frame a grove of majestic redwood trees reaching heavenward. Guests face this magnificent forest scene, while from the steps below the communion table the bridal party enjoys its own striking tableau: the six-foot-tall stained-glass window above the front doors depicting a simple golden Celtic cross in a blue-toned mosaic. When light shines through it, the amber cross is reflected across the church onto the view of the redwoods, and seems to float mysteriously in the air—a sparkling vision that heightens the mood of peaceful reverence.
The church comes with the services of a coordinator, organist, wedding hostess and hostess assistant. Every couple that marries at Valley Presbyterian has a meeting with their assigned officiant. Also included, but optional, are candelabras with candles, a unity candle, white silk florals for the communion table and pew decorations.
Valley Presbyterian Church believes in giving back to the community, and is known for its outreach and children's programs. This is a church that actively promotes family, community, and spiritual values—a promising environment for starting a new life together.
