Why You'll Love This Place
A Here Comes The Guide Wedding Venue Review
- Located in the heart of the UC Berkeley campus, this enchanting venue sits quietly ensconced in a grove of redwoods, oaks and maples next to meandering Strawberry Creek. Designed in 1902 by the renowned architect Bernard Maybeck, this beloved Arts and Crafts landmark exudes warmth, charm, and timeless elegance.
- The centerpiece of the club is the breathtaking Great Hall. With its vaulted ceiling, dramatic stone fireplace, and beautiful stained-glass windows, it's reminiscent of a European cathedral. The adjacent lawn, shaded by mature trees, is a lovely spot for exchanging vows before moving inside for your wedding feast, where light from the large windows warms the redwood paneling and suffuses the Hall in a golden glow.
- Two distinctive intimate spaces are equally lovely: the Seaborg Room boasts open-beamed A-frame ceiling and wisteria-framed windows overlooking the peaceful Glade Lawn, while the Heyns Room showcases wood-paneled walls, Art Deco frescoes, and French doors that lead to a private patio. Wherever you choose to celebrate, you'll be treated to exceptional in-house cuisine and the thoughtful, warm service of the events staff. Backed by more than a century of events, the Faculty Club makes a memorable setting for life's most important occasions.
