- Dinner and a movie: the quintessential first date. At this dynamic and thoroughly original venue in the Mission District, it also becomes an incredible backdrop to your relationship's biggest move yet. A magnet for foodies, cinephiles, and loyal locals, Foreign Cinema artfully edits together critically acclaimed cuisine with several unique dining environments—if you buy out the restaurant, all of these spaces become yours for the Big Night.
- In the canopied center Courtyard, there's a nice long aisle for your ceremonial entrance. After the service, friends and family can enjoy a sumptuous cocktail reception in the Modernism West Gallery, a loft-like space with a two-story ceiling and walls covered in impressive display of visually exciting artwork. There's a chic bar at one end, and along the other are floor-to-ceiling windows inset with glass doors that lead to a cozy Zen-like Upper Patio. Some couples opt to host their entire event in the Gallery.
- Festivities might also unfold across the Courtyard with dinner in the rustically elegant Dining Room, whose wood-framed windows open to the outdoors. Overlooking it all is the Mezzanine, which can serve as a VIP lounge, an intimate rehearsal dinner spot, or a retreat for the couple… all with great views of the action below. And part of that action is the open kitchen, because Foreign Cinema, being chef-owned, is very focused on maintaining the high level of its popular California-Mediterranean dishes, prepared in inventive ways with only fresh, organic ingredients.

With a variety of event spaces, this venue can accommodate both large parties and intimate guest-counts.
EVENT/RECEPTION CAPACITY: Gatherings of 61 guests or more require a restaurant buyout, which includes a variety of distinctive event spaces that are used in combination. They include the Main Dining Room and a unique Courtyard for dinner seating, with use of the Gallery for a cocktail reception and dancing. The Main Dining Room and Courtyard combined accommodate 170 guests seated or 350 standing. Guests can mingle throughout the entire venue during your event, and you may show your own film in the Courtyard and/or Gallery.
CEREMONY CAPACITY: In addition to 100 seated guests, the venue also accommodates 50 standing guests for a total of 150.
MEETING CAPACITY: The venue can seat up to 70 guests for meetings.
