Why You'll Love This Place

A Here Comes The Guide Wedding Venue Review
  • Perched on a dramatic bluff above the grand Hudson River, this luxurious Peekskill retreat, originally an 1872 Gothic Revival convent, has been thoughtfully preserved and reinvented for today. Its rich history is present throughout, from the 1,000-pound bell in the soaring belfy to the hand-carved marble statues in the ballroom to its Fort Hill location, which served as lookout point for George Washington and his troops.
  • The Highlands Ballroom sits in the stunning former chapel, which is evident in its soaring open-trussed timber ceilings, vaulted arches, and raised, light-flooded apse.  In warm weather, you'll want to gather al fresco, where you'll find a sweeping lawn anchored by a pretty white pergola with a jaw-dropping view of the river and verdant hills, and an adjacent patio perfect for cocktails. We also love the Cornerstone Room for intimate celebrations, surrounded by historic hand painted ecclesiastical murals and stained-glass windows.
  • It's your day—and only yours. Only one wedding is held at a time, meaning the staff, coordinators, and world-class culinary team will be entirely focused on your experience.. and no request is too large or too small. Weekend weddings are especially seamless, with 42 rooms and suites for all your loved ones, an on-site spa, 65 acres of grounds to explore, delectable farm-to-table dining, and easy access to the rich arts, culture, and nature of the surrounding Hudson River Highlands, all just an hour-long train ride from midtown Manhattan.
