Insider Tips for your Dripping Springs Wedding

Marriage License Requirements

In the state of Texas, couples may apply for a marriage license at any County Clerk's office. Both you and your fiancé must appear together, and provide payment along with a government-issued ID proving that you're at least 18 years of age. The fee for a marriage license in Hays County is $82 and there is a mandatory waiting period of 72 hours. However, if you present a "Premarital Education Course Certificate" (through the Twogether in Texas Program), the fee will be $22 and the 72-hour waiting period will be waived.

Your marriage license is valid for 90 days after issuance, and you have 30 days after the wedding ceremony to return the license to the county clerk.

Military Love! All fees are waived if you're a member of the National Guard on federal active duty, or a member of the armed forces of the United States on active duty who is preparing to be deployed to serve in a hostile fire zone. You'll just need to provide documentation of your deployment.
