Why We Like This Place

With three distinctive venues encompassing 30 acres of gently rolling hills in a secluded rural valley of North County San Diego, Grand Tradition Estate and Gardens has something special to offer every newly engaged couple. Seven stunning waterfalls are featured throughout the botanical reserve, and each garden site has its own personality.

The most formal site is the Beverly Mansion, surrounded by magnificent gardens and overlooking a heart-shaped lake. As you stand on the veranda inhaling the rose-scented air, take a moment to savor the storybook quality of the scene before you: a vast expanse of lawn sloping down to the picturesque lakeside gazebo where you’ll say “I do”. Want to add another fairytale touch? Arrive at the gazebo in a white horse-drawn carriage before exchanging vows.

Receptions are held in the mansion’s Crystal Ballroom, a nostalgically elegant hall illuminated by glittering Swarovski crystal chandeliers. Opulent furnishings and Chiavari chairs accentuate the room’s glamour. At one end, a palatial presentation staircase awaits the newlyweds’ grand entrance. Event-friendly amenities include a raised stage for the head table, hardwood dance floor, baby grand piano, dramatic uplighting, and even an English pub.

If you have a more relaxed setting in mind, Arbor Terrace evokes the lush island ambiance of Hana, Hawaii. Although called a “terrace,” this site is actually a gorgeously landscaped garden with cascading waterfalls, graceful bridges, expansive lawns and palm trees swaying in the breeze. Capturing all the romance and natural splendor of a tropical paradise, it’s a favorite ceremony spot for many couples.

At one end of Arbor Terrace, the Arbor Pavilion provides a versatile option for receptions. This charming open-air venue is designed with arched French-style windows along three sides, a fabric-draped ceiling canopy, and a built-in stone bar and buffet room. The wraparound windows treat dining guests to a garden view, and the Pavilion’s fourth side, which is completely open, showcases the elevated garden patio and dance floor. A warm and inviting space, the patio is enhanced by a blazing fire in the flagstone fireplace, and a waterfall tumbling softly in the background.

Grand Tradition’s newest venue is Compass Garden, a decidedly California-casual choice for a cocktail hour or laid-back reception. A pathway meanders among colorful succulents, ornamental grasses and Mediterranean plants, and guests also enjoy a terrific view of the heart-shaped lake and a breathtaking sunset. Closer in, they can admire a stunning water feature that was recently awarded “Best in California.” Gatherings convene at the Orchid Bar, where comfy, oversized lounge furniture clusters around a central fire pit and everyone unwinds as they bask in the soothing surround of gardens, lake and waterfalls.

At Grand Tradition Estate, you’ll appreciate the exceptionally attentive, friendly service, which includes customized menus by culinary artists who take pride in serving only the freshest and most flavorful dishes. With such hospitality and three uniquely beautiful event areas, it’s no surprise that couples come from far and wide to celebrate at this enchanting wonderland.
