Why We Like This Place

Its gracious hacienda-like architecture hints at California’s past, but in personality and performance this distinctive venue is stylishly contemporary. Located in the rolling hills overlooking the Saddleback Valley, the Aliso Viejo Country Club is a warm and welcoming special event setting that serves up memorable celebrations of all kinds with panache.

One of Orange County’s newest private country clubs, (and boasting one of the only two Jack Nicklaus-designed golf courses in the region), its little lakes and woods are home to a plethora of small woodland creatures. Kingfishers, green herons, snowy egrets, and western meadowlarks are just a few of the many wonderful birds that can be seen around the waterways and well-tended fairways and greens. Fragrant herbs and colorful blooms fill the gardens. Balconies, bell towers and elegant French doors open onto the terraces and courtyards.

Ceremonies and receptions are often held on the Viejo Lawn, where both the handsome pergola framed by beds of white roses and the well-manicured course provide applause-worthy backdrops for any festivity. Whether your event is a wedding, a brunch, a baby shower, a corporate shindig, or an anniversary dinner, it will be well placed and beautifully served here.

Indoors, an elevator and a handsome wrought-iron staircase off the lobby take you up to an attractive second-story foyer, which adjoins a series of lovely salons where guests can unwind, sip cocktails and dine in private and unhurried bliss. The ladies card room serves as an elegant lounge. In it, French doors open onto a small half-moon-shaped Juliet balcony in the clubhouse tower. Its arched, brick window openings looking out over the grounds create an ultra-romantic frame for photos of the bride and groom.

Also on this floor is a rustic living room with a Spanish-style fireplace and comfortable furnishings, plus a private dining room featuring a full granite bar; vaulted, beamed ceiling; two outdoor terraces suitable for dining and dancing; and panoramic views of the golf course and valley. After a dinner of the culinary team’s delicious California fusion cuisine, you may want to gather in the adjacent wine room for the cake cutting. With its masculine décor—handsome mahogany floors and dark walnut wine lockers—and patio access, this space is perfect for cigar aficionados, too.

The spectacular spa-caliber ladies room is a bonus. Just the place for prepping and pampering, it has club chairs, leather ottomans, beamed ceilings, carpeted and tumbled travertine marble floors, and a four-station granite vanity with sinks. Rumor has it the gentlemen’s locker room is equally plush.

And, of course, there’s the golf course—a stunning location for those joyful wedding pictures. You’re sure to be flushed with happiness and wearing big smiles because your wedding here is the best one … ever.

Fees & Deposits

A $500 deposit is required to reserve your date and the balance is due 7 days prior to the event. Rental fees start at $400 depending on the day and time of the event, guest count, and the space rented. Meals start at $35/person. Tax, alcohol and a 21% service charge are additional.
