Why We Like This Place

A well-known landmark along downtown Sausalito’s waterfront, The Spinnaker Restaurant has been a favorite dining destination for over 50 years. This popular venue, which sits on piers right over the water, also boasts a delightful banquet facility that offers the same excellent cuisine, topnotch service and spectacular bay views.

Although the banquet facility adjoins the restaurant, it’s completely separate from the main dining room and has its own entrance as well as a dedicated kitchen that caters solely to your special event. And like the restaurant, it has plenty of floor-to-ceiling windows and glass doors that let diners savor sweeping vistas of Belvedere, Angel Island, the Bay Bridge and San Francisco’s skyline from anywhere in the room.

The warm interior, in shades of cream and rose, is complemented by a high, distinctive, wood-slat ceiling. Sliding glass doors open onto an outdoor deck that provides an additional 1,000 square feet of bayside event space. Sailboats glide past almost close enough to touch, their colorful spinnakers and white sails billowing in the breeze.

The practical attributes of The Spinnaker Banquet Facility are as compelling as the views. This versatile venue is spacious enough to accommodate a large wedding reception or holiday party (with a band and dance floor) or can easily be set up with lecture-style seating, a stage and a podium for business functions. It can also be configured for smaller, more intimate gatherings, such as bridal shower luncheons, anniversary parties or birthday celebrations.

The Spinnaker is known for orchestrating memorable occasions tailored to their clients’ individual needs. Their expert event planning services include arranging everything from florals and photography to music or other entertainment. They offer a variety of reception packages, and their signature menus—which feature fresh seafood, gourmet meats, local specialties and savory vegetarian options—cater to every culinary preference.

CEREMONY & EVENT/RECEPTION CAPACITY: The deck holds 75 seated or 90 standing, the banquet room 160 seated or 220 standing guests.

MEETING CAPACITY: The Banquet Room holds 200 seated theater-style or 160 seated conference-style.

Fees & Deposits

To reserve your date, a $1,500 nonrefundable deposit is required (which is applied towards the event balance). The food and beverage balance is payable at the event’s completion. The food and beverage minimum is $2,000 Monday–Thursday daytime, $3,000 Monday–Thursday evening, $4,000 Friday, Saturday and Sunday daytime, and $8,000 Saturday evening. In-house catering is provided. Buffets or seated meals run $45–55/person; alcohol, tax and an 18% service charge are additional. A $1,000 room charge, $175 bartending fee and $225 dance floor fee may apply. For ceremonies, there’s a $450 setup charge.

For business luncheons and dinners, or for smaller groups, special rates can be arranged.
