Yes, a pandemic will inevitably make your wedding look different—but these couples didn't let it put a damper on their I Dos! With a bit of creativity, they found ways to rework their celebration to make it both safe AND sentimental. If you're determined to have your big day despite the pandemic, get inspired by the creative Covid wedding ideas below!

Host a Drive-In Movie Wedding

This couple didn't let Covid-19 cancel their celebration—and decided to have a drive-in movie themed wedding instead (genius!). Their intimate ceremony was up on the big screen for all to see and live-streamed for remote guests. Their starlit vows were followed by taco trucks and ice cream trucks, and there was even a 10PM showing of the couple's favorite movie, Twister! It just goes to show that with a little imagination and some serious rose-colored glasses, you can still have the wedding of your dreams—even in the midst of this pandemic.

Have a Wedding Tailgate

One trend that's come about during the pandemic is parking lot weddings. But we love that this couple took it a step further with a tailgate-style setup! Guests parked their cars and clustered together with their household, as the newlyweds walked through the rows to greet everyone at a safe distance. Then, there was a car parade reception. Two of our favorite things—weddings and tailgates—become one. How amazing is that?!

Match Your Attire with Custom Masks

Wear wedding face masks. But make it fashion. This bride made custom masks to match the wedding outfits that she designed. Talk about talent! Luckily, she's also making custom face masks for fellow Covid couples over on her Etsy page.

Deck out your Deck

Many displaced corona-couples are tying the knot at home—and transforming areas of their backyards into truly beautiful event spaces. Use potted plants, hanging floral baskets, draped fabric, twinkle lights, and even outdoor rugs or lounge furniture to create a meaningful "event space" at home!

Socially-Distanced Seating Arrangements

Outdoor weddings are allowed in some states, but social distancing is still a best practice. Help your guests maintain their personal space with strategic seating arrangements! Space the chairs in a delightful yet distanced formation, or cluster seats together by household.

Sing Your Vows—Loud and Proud!

These two love birds had an intimate elopement on top of a sand dune. And although they were unable to have the "big" day due to Covid-19, they sang out their love from the sand-dune-tops and made their micro I DOs extra meaningful.

Social Distancing Wristbands

We always want to keep our guests' comfort in mind, which is why many couples are giving out social distancing wristbands at their reception. Guests communicate their comfort level by wearing a red, yellow, or green bracelet. Because even with all the safety guidelines in place, some of your guests will still feel compelled to hug one another. These wristbands help guests avoid any awkward hug-dodging situations.

Play Pre-Recorded Speeches

A just-the-two-of-you elopement is an incredibly intimate and wonderful way to have a wedding on your own terms—and your own timeline! We love that this couple played pre-recorded speeches from their best man and maid of honor, and watched them together while sipping champagne. We're hard-pressed to think of a more heartfelt wedding experience.

Turn Lemons Into Lemonade

This incredible couple turned a canceled wedding into a way of giving back. Their wedding reception was canceled due to coronavirus; but instead of having a pity party, they decided to donate all the catering to a local women and children's shelter. And not only did they donate the food—they served it in their wedding duds!

Spread Love, Not Germs

If you're having a micro-wedding, it's helpful to lay out the guidelines and precautions on a "Spread Love, Not Germs" sign! This is a stylish-yet-friendly reminder that will help keep everyone in attendance safe.

Take The New "Guest List Photo"

We love it when couples get a group shot with their entire guest list on the wedding day. The photographer gets way up high and gets every single person in attendance into the frame. So how do you translate that to a Covid wedding? Have the newlyweds take a photo with all their virtual guests!
