It really is a small world after all… Mary found her way to Here Comes The Guide through a couple of fortuitous relationships: She was both the completely put-together sister of Stephanie's childhood bestie and a former coworker/friend/confidant of Lisa, which meant she basically had to become part of our Hoppy Sisterhood. Mary is the ultimate triple threat—she's wickedly smart, adoringly sweet, and oh-so-full of style (Madewell being her favorite guilty pleasure). And she squeezes more into her life than seems humanly possible. She's mom to 3 boys, which means she's part referee and part ultimate soccer mom...24/7. She's a newborn photographer, who's talented at capturing life's most tender moments. And, she deftly managing all things related to the Here Comes The Guide book. Yep. She does all that AND makes it look easy. #allthegoals

Insider Info

Pronouns: she/her /hers

Marital status: My background is in education and there just happened to be this PE teacher at the school where I first taught second grade. We decided to meet up one Thursday evening and haven’t stopped hanging out since. These days, we spend a lot of time out in our backyard or on soccer and baseball fields where our 3 boys keep us busy!

Where you can find me on a Saturday: Well first, coffee. If I’m not at a sports event after that, you’ll find me hiking in our local hills! I like to end every Saturday somewhere outside, hanging with family and friends.

My guilty pleasure: Chocolate-covered gummy bears. And probably some top-shelf tequila, if I’m being honest.

What I love most about Here Comes The Guide: Here Comes The Guide got me hook, line, and sinker because of the devoted women who work here. Whether it’s a friendship or collaboration on a project, or a simple conversation, you can count on the women of The Guide to give you honesty and integrity.

My source of inspiration: Really and truly, I thrive off people and connections. I’m particularly drawn to people who are living out their place and phase in life with honesty and vulnerability. My faith plays into this quite a bit.

Extra-curricular joys: Give me girlfriends, good coffee, and conversation. And if I’m in sweats with a top bun too? JOY TANK FULL. I’m also a newborn photographer, and it’s such an honor to be invited to share a family’s sweet first days at home with their new baby.

Panic button pusher: The stomach flu. I can’t even. If I hear that someone has it within a mile of my home I’m washing down walls and hands and doors and windows.

Favorite wedding detail from my own wedding: Though it was NOT my favorite moment at the time, my dad accidentally dropped me on the dance floor during our dance. Like, fall-on-my-back kind of drop. But to this day, it makes me laugh and reminds me that no matter how much you try to plan every detail of something, it doesn’t always go the way you thought it would.

Exercise: Hiking, hiking, and more hiking…with pull ups & push ups thrown in there too!
