Why We Like Them

Desert Bride and owner Mickie Reed are an integral part of the Greater Palm Springs wedding scene. Not only do Mickie and her service-oriented salon staff go out of their way to help brides, bridesmaids and Moms look amazing for their spotlight moments; they also save them time and money. Whether hosting designer trunk shows, offering promotions and discounts, or matching clients up with local vendors, Desert Bride is involved with the community and those who celebrate here.

But Desert Bride isn’t just for locals—many a bride visiting from Orange County, San Diego and beyond come here “just to look” and walk away with their dream dress. They also leave impressed: “The consultants were patient and knowledgeable. I had their full attention and support—they really listened!”

When we visited, we were welcomed to an attractive, well-organized shop with spacious dressing rooms, large mirrors, and a comfortable sitting area. We couldn’t stop admiring the luscious gowns on display, as well as pretty accompaniments—shoes, veils, and glittering temptations. Clearly, Mickie keeps up with the newest developments in bridal fashion, and is adept at honing in on a bride’s personal taste. Her salon is known for accommodating ladies of all shapes and sizes, and both brides and the wedding professionals we spoke with feel strongly about the boutique’s commitment to customer care.

Want to make dress shopping a real party? Consider booking out the entire store for a private Sunday Champagne appointment. For a nominal fee that’s applicable to your wedding dress purchase, you and a dozen friends and family members can shop in privacy while being treated to bubbly, light refreshments and the staff’s undivided attention. What fun!

One more thing: Micki has a very active Facebook page, where she uploads photos of real Desert Brides, info about contests and get-togethers, and shots of newly arrived gowns and wedding accessories. That’s just another way that Micki continues to make connections and share her expertise with brides, which they definitely appreciate.

When we asked a recent customer for her opinion of Desert Bride, she happily concluded: “Five out of five stars in my book!”
