About This Company
Imagine this: Eddie Zaratsian and his team at Tic-Tock Couture Florals decorated a large hotel ballroom, and the director of catering was so dazzled, she actually called up her family and had them come over to see it. “I’ve never done that before,” she said. “You felt like you were in heaven when you walked in. It was very glamorous—and it was mostly done with flowers!”
Clearly, reactions like this are why Eddie was one of the youngest inductees ever at the American Institute of Floral Designers and twice picked by Los Angeles Magazine as LA’s best florist. Even Time magazine recently recognized Eddie as a trend-setter. “He’s incredibly, incredibly creative. The most creative stuff I’ve ever seen came from him,” says one photographer.
Eddie has virtually no limits when it comes to realizing his visions. “We’ll do an entire event design from the linens and china to the chair covers and overall look of the room,” he says. And the look, whether traditional or modern, is fresh, young, innovative and sometimes so breathtaking you can’t believe your eyes. Colleagues particularly admire his ability to transform difficult or plain spaces into something luxuriant and gorgeous.
You might think one of the most sought-after floral designers in Los Angeles would have, umm, an attitude problem, but you’d be wrong. Talent aside, Eddie is the kind of guy you want to call when you’re depressed. He’s so funny, so engaging, you can’t help but feel uplifted after a conversation with him. “I love Eddie. There are a lot of prima donnas out there, but he’s just a joy to work with. He’s energetic, enthusiastic and a lot of fun,” says one caterer. A bride’s mother remarks, “It was a pleasure every time we met with him—he gave us his time without rushing us. You can say anything you want to him. He’s artistic, but not imposing.”
Eddie is known for his rapport with clients. “He’s good at getting a profile of the couple to find out what suits them,” notes an events professional. “When you tell him what you have in mind, he just knows,” exclaims one client. “All you need to do is give Eddie a hint of what you want, and he’ll run with it,” says another diehard fan. “He’s an artist who will take a design far beyond what you can even imagine.” A bride confirms, “I met with him and he really got a vibe on me. I gave him a lot of freedom and he got it exactly right—it was phenomenal.” She adds, “I expected a lot from him, and he surpassed all my expectations. We had two bands and a DJ, but the flowers were the talk of the night!”
“It’s nice to deal with someone so creative who also understands the concepts of budget’ and promptness’ and always gives me more than I ask for,” says a wedding professional. Eddie, who attributes much of his style and business philosophy to his mother, feels that service is the key to his success. “I believe in trust, reliability and integrity,” he says. “I will go to the extreme to make my clients happy. I want the bride to feel pampered, to feel that she can relax because we are taking care of her.”
Eddie’s most recent project included all the floral displays for the Emmy Awards Governor’s Ball. It was a huge event for 2,500 guests, many of them celebs who were wining and dining after the Emmy Award ceremonies.
