Background
Rising Sun catering specializes in what they think of as Northern California Cuisine—rustic, hearty, beautiful food centered on local products.
They’re also inspired by the philosophy of the Slow Food movement, whose goal is to create an oasis of conviviality where friends and family can linger together over a terrific meal. However, as much as this movement is about the pleasure of great meals, it’s also about having respect for where the food comes from. Accordingly, Rising Sun seeks out pasture-fed beef, free-range chicken, organic dairy, seafood that is not endangered or farmed, produce from local family farms, and breads from local artisanal bakeries. A wedding is, of course, the perfect “Slow Food” occasion.
Services
Included in all of Rising Sun Catering’s menus is their signature artistic presentation. Owner Chad Harris feels that food should look as good as it tastes, and he makes an effort to present food artfully, though without being overly precious about it. He understands how staging the food with clever use of his eclectic collection of platters, risers, candles and props—not typical of those seen at most catered events—helps the whole event shine. You’ll also appreciate the unique, high-quality rental items that he has access to at a very competitive cost.
