Background
A native of upstate New York, Dia Rao studied photography at the highly regarded Brooks Institute of Photography in Santa Barbara where she gained a thorough grasp of both the technical and creative elements of photography and interned with a top photographer.
Services
Dia Rao works entirely in digital in a style that she describes as a blend of photojournalistic and traditional, contemporary and vintage.
Dia designs custom packages, so for example, you choose whether you want an engagement session or not. Likewise the amount of time, if any, in traditional portraits is up to you—Dia also orchestrates less traditional, lively group photos.
All images are provided on disc or download, plus Dia has convenient online viewing and ordering for you and your guests. Additionally, she offers three types of albums:
• Coffee table book
Dia designs each page from scratch, artistically displaying a collection of your best images in this unique, contemporary, magazine-style album format. This hardback coffee table book comes with a matching dust jacket and slipcase and is available in matching purse and soft cover options.
• Traditional matted album
Individually printed photographs are matted on thick double-sided pages in this handcrafted, sophisticated leather album.
• Flush mounted album
One to twenty images may be printed on each heavyweight photographic page of a flush-mounted album. These hardbound albums come in keepsake boxes and have the look and feel of coffee table books mixed with the sturdiness of traditional albums. Covers may be silk, leather or brushed aluminum.
