Background
California Rose Catering is owned by founder Rosa Mendicino and her son, Dov Sims, who is the chef. Rosa’s had extensive experience working for different catering companies and restaurants before creating her own company. Not only did Dov grow up cooking with his mother, he also spent nearly a decade as a chef in unique and high-end restaurants around the Bay Area.
Services
California Rose takes a boutique approach to catering: they typically handle one event per day, enabling them to give you their full attention. Rose and Dov work every event and take customer service to heart—they don’t just meet with you once then send a team out.
They welcome—even encourage—clients to take part in the creation of the menu. California Rose specializes in catering unforgettable, thoughtfully composed, and beautifully presented cuisine.
One of our favorite things about California Rose Catering is that they always prepare a wedding basket packed with all the food served at the wedding, soaps, candies, and a bottle of the couple’s favorite beverage. Believe us, most couples do not eat a substantial amount of food at the wedding and end up hungry later on!
