About This Company
Burrows Entertainment is a live music, DJ and entertainment service representing a wide range of great talent. As owner David Burrows says, “We can supply every style of music from a Flamenco guitarist to a chamber ensemble, and specialized entertainment from a Motown band or Sinatra/jazz group to stand-up comedians.” David goes the extra mile too—in fact, he’ll meet his clients wherever it’s most convenient for them.
With so many options, you’ll be glad that David is a good listener and takes a very personal approach. He knows how to help his clients identify their entertainment needs. “Sometimes,” he explains, “a couple will assume they want a jazz trio. But after we discuss all the choices and the mood they want to create, they might end up deciding that a DJ or variety band is really what they’re looking for.”
David started his business in 1979 as a DJ company. It has grown considerably since then, with many clients requesting his specialized live music groups. His goal has always been to make every client at every event completely satisfied—a standard that has meant taking his time in expanding to ensure quality control. “I give my absolute attention to every detail,” says David, who returns all his calls promptly, and lets brides know they can call him as often as they like. Couples fill out a questionnaire so David can plan the big day down to the minute, from the grand entrance to the last dance dedication. “We’re a service business,” he adds. “We want the bride and groom to be able to relax and enjoy one of the most memorable days of their lives, confident the timing will be right.”
Since timing is so important, it’s good to know that David and his entertainers are very experienced in all genres of music. The DJs draw from a vast library of music, and the live bands have extensive repertoires to satisfy any mix of guests. The bands work in set groups, so they don’t have to waste a minute getting to know each other, but can get right down to pleasing the crowd with great music. “Reading the actions and reactions of the crowd, and knowing just the right tune and when to play it is crucial in making an event very special,” says David. He recalls a wedding where he worked as a DJ and created a magical moment playing, “That’s What Friends Are For”. “Instantaneously,” he says, “30 or so of the couple’s closest friends encircled them. Everyone was dancing and had tears of excitement and delight.”
An enthusiastic review from one of David’s clients says it all: “From our first meeting, you showed us how music at a wedding can be done right. The band was so upbeat, the mix of selections so perfect, that from the first dance on, no one left the dance floor until we left for our honeymoon!” In fact, clients are so jazzed by David’s impeccable delivery, that his groups are requested to perform encores at birthdays, anniversaries, and corporate holiday parties!
