Looking for someone to make all the wedding arrangements, musically speaking? Try Michael Greenfield and Ace of Hearts Musical Entertainment. Michael’s extensive skills as a musician, arranger and composer also make him a first-rate agent. So whether he’s performing at your event himself, or selecting just the right musicians for it, his company has a reputation for keeping the music flowing, the party going, and the guests glowing.
Michael’s instrument of choice is the guitar. Dressed in a tuxedo, fingers dancing over the strings, he’s a pretty impressive musician. But Michael doesn’t like to single himself out. “Every musician that I refer is as dedicated as I am,” he promises. “I only hire people who love to play as much as I do.” That’s why, when he’s not working an event himself, he and his clients can rely completely on the musicians he has chosen. “I work with a select group of entertainers,” Michael explains. “Communication is close and complete. When I send performers out, they have been thoroughly prepped by me.”
“Michael is really good with clients and with reading crowds,” notes a catering manager who recommends him highly. “He can tell if the crowd is upbeat and wants the music bumped up, or if they just want to sit and enjoy good conversation with mellow music playing in the background. Whatever their mood, Michael and his musicians provide the right music.”
As comfortable with Pachelbel’s Canon as he is with a bossa nova or a swing tune, Michael is fondest of events that showcase the musical range of all of the performers he works with. From string ceremony to jazz cocktail hour to big band or disco reception, and from small dinner party to corporate gala, what this composer-arranger-performer-agent likes best is orchestrating an entire musical evening. “I know all of the musicians I work with and I have also played with all of them,” relates Michael. “They are professionals who perform, record and work with big names like Ray Charles, Henry Mancini, Natalie Cole and Brian Setzer. They all have very different personalities and talents; I love that.”
He also loves the diversity that he finds in his clients’ musical tastes. Whether it’s classical or klezmer, big band or string quartets, Michael can provide the music, offering direction and supplying scores of suggestions. If the song of your dreams is not on one of his long lists of selections, he’ll make sure his band members learn it. And what’s more, he’ll create the perfect arrangement. “Every bride and groom is different,” observes Michael. “Each event is a fresh composition.”
Besides his musical gifts, “Michael’s a doll to work with,” exclaims a wedding industry colleague. “I’ve seen him perform with trios, quartets and with a six-piece band. They’re not only very versatile, they play a great mix of music.” An event manager, who enjoyed seeing Michael perform in a 14-piece band, recounts, “That was for one of our annual fundraisers where the Governor’s wife was the featured guest. Michael did a great job. But then, he and his musicians always do. We just love him to pieces.”
