Villa Chanticleer

Description

Atop a gentle slope, within a seventeen-acre park at the edge of Healdsburg, you’ll find Villa Chanticleer, a casual no-frills facility owned by the City of Healdsburg. The redwood tree setting is pleasant, quiet and cool. Built in 1910 as a lodge resort for San Franciscans, this one-story structure is surrounded on three sides by a wide veranda, shaded by a substantial wisteria-covered trellis.

The entryway leads directly into a room containing a large U-shaped bar with a southwest-style mural painted on the back wall. On either side of the bar are two more rooms: the Ballroom and the Dining Room, 3,000 square feet each. Both have light-toned hardwood floors, redwood paneled walls, white ceilings and large bay windows on three sides of each room. The Ballroom has a large stone fireplace at its center; the Dining Room has a more open, lighter ambiance and views of the adjacent countryside. These spacious rooms can accommodate a relaxed down home party, or be dressed up for a formal affair.

Just a short walk from the Villa, a new, outdoor wedding garden has been added. It’s a secluded lawn bordered by large terracotta planters and redwoods. During the ceremony, the bride walks down a brick path in the center to a quaint gazebo, where she and her groom exchange vows.

What’s nice about this facility is that it can handle a large crowd, the spaces are flexible and the price is quite attractive. No wonder Villa Chanticleer is a natural favorite among brides and grooms as well as local companies.
