There really is no other place on earth quite like Ventana Inn. Ventana elegantly embodies its two themes: "Natural Being" and "The Luxury of You." With the privacy of a rustic hideaway, Ventana is an exclusive resort that pampers you at every step. Even the 45-minute drive south from Carmel is a treat. The serpentine highway skirts steep cliffs above the legendary Big Sur coastline, while waves crashing below create a symphony of nature’s rhythms. When you arrive at the Inn—which is perched 1,200 feet above the rugged shore—prepare to be seduced by the pleasures this bit of paradise has to offer.
As you approach the main lodge, breathe deep and relish the sweetness of pink jasmine mingled with a hint of ocean breeze. Pause to make a wish at the Asian-style tub fountain with floating lilies before entering Ventana’s restaurant, Cielo. Inside, you’re struck by the dusky aroma of cedar, the fragrant wood that’s used in all of Ventana’s buildings. The bi-level restaurant is expansive, yet has a cozy feel, with exposed wooden beams, a fireplace going strong in the bar, and light pouring in from tall windows. If the weather’s fine, then you’ll want to have at least part of your special event on the magnificent outdoor Terrace, set against a cluster of hills sprinkled with wildflowers. The Terrace sweeps in an arc over a sheer canyon, and miles of uninterrupted coastal panorama spread before you like a precious gift. It’s easy to understand why couples travel from all over the world just to say their wedding vows against this stunning backdrop. Hold a reception for 100 on the Terrace or host an intimate banquet under the shade of a vine-covered arbor in the middle of the Terrace. For an even more secluded wedding ceremony, Ventana and Mother Nature invite you to share one of their special spots: a petite herb garden with an ocean view, or a flagstone pavilion overlooking the sea—both settings enkindle genuine romance.
The luxurious guestrooms—generously spaced throughout the Inn’s 240 acres for maximum privacy—will tempt you to stay on at Ventana for your honeymoon. Your mini-oasis comes complete with indulgent amenities like stylish slate floors, a wood-burning fireplace, lavish bath and dressing areas, and a private outdoor deck that frames a view of sea, hillsides and glen. Take some time to explore Ventana’s lush grounds along an easy forest trail that awakens your senses with a whiff of eucalyptus, the song of a meadowlark, and a kaleidoscope of butterflies and flowers. You may even find your primeval spirit roused by the sighting of a deer or wild turkey stirring among the redwoods!
After a hike or a day lounging at one of the swimming pools (one is clothing optional), perhaps you’ll want to survey the brilliant night sky while soaking in an open-air Japanese hot tub. Or succumb to the temptations of Ventana’s spa. Each treatment room is replete with a serene vista, the enticing scent of aromatherapy oils and your choice of music. Fees & Deposits
For weddings, a $2,500 nonrefundable deposit is required to reserve your date. The balance is due one week prior to the event. Rental fees range $1,500–6,000 depending on space rented. Luncheons start at $45/person and dinners at $75/person. Tax, alcohol and a 20% service charge are additional. A ceremony setup fee is extra.For business meetings and social functions, a $500 deposit reserves your date. The balance is payable one week prior to the event. Rental fees range $500–1,500, depending on space rented. Breakfasts start at $18/person, luncheons at $40/person, and dinners at $65/person. Meeting packages are available and include Continental breakfast, lunch and afternoon break. Tax, alcohol and a 20% service charge are additional.

The restaurant is available year-round. Outdoor spaces are available May–October, daily, noon–11pm.
