Triton Museum of Art

Description

An art museum may not be the first place that comes to mind when planning your event, but maybe it should be, especially if it’s Santa Clara’s Triton Museum of Art. This museum offers a variety of venues, both indoors and out, that make a refreshing change from more traditional sites.

From an architectural perspective, the museum is visually stunning. With its angled white stucco walls, pyramidal skylights, and columned entrance flanked by palm trees, the building is reminiscent of Egypt or Morocco. Enter through the revolving door, and you’re in the Rotunda. Coolly elegant, with marble floors, concrete pillars, and sinuous floor-to-ceiling windows that bring the outdoors inside, the Rotunda is suitable for cocktail parties, seated or standing receptions, or dancing. This room overlooks a seven-acre park, also available for events, with rolling lawns, majestic redwoods, and statues and sculptures of every description. Everything from traditional sit-down dinners to innovative corporate parties has been held in this park. For example, the creative folks at Sierra Semiconductor constructed a clear-sided wraparound tent with different themes and games inside sections of the tent, while in front of the museum, a mural of a ship was erected, complete with a gangplank for guests to climb.

Other options include the Cowell Room, an octagonal space with hardwood flooring and display cases. The Museum has two galleries available as well, where you’ll be able to enjoy the fine art exhibits, tasteful ambiance, and stunning pyramidal skylights that can be opened in sunny weather. One unique feature of the Triton Museum is that with their lighting system and skylights, they can give the effect of natural sunlight 24 hours a day.

The museum has other amenities to make your event trouble-free. There is ample free parking, and all event spaces are wheelchair accessible. So, when you plan your next party or business meeting, consider the Triton Museum of Art. Your "critics" will rave, and wonder where you came up with such a clever idea.
