Description
Pomona is one of the Inland Empire’s crown jewels. Aside from its great colleges and splendid mountain views, it has an interesting geography with lots of hills. They’re a welcome relief from the flatness of the lowlands that dominate much of Southern California’s urban landscape.They’re also one reason why the Shilo Hilltop Suites is so appealing. Set near the top of one of those hills, the hotel looks down on a lively vista that combines busy suburban buzz—freeways, boulevards, restaurants and neighborhoods—with the natural contours of surrounding countryside, and the not-so-distant profile of the San Gabriel Mountains. But the best thing about its location is its convenient freeway access, just off State Highway 57. This puts Shilo within an hour’s drive of Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside and San Bernardino counties. When you mix in its other strengths, such as a spacious banquet room, an experienced catering staff and group rates for out-of-town guests, the hotel easily becomes a top prospect for a wedding reception venue.
The Grand Ballroom has large windows that overlook much of the terrain around the property, including the mountains. The view is a hit with guests who like to watch the world go by from a hilltop perch. They also warm to the room’s dignified décor: Muted green carpeting and window trim contrast with white walls and dark brown baseboards. Large etched mirrors seem to expand the space, while columns sheathed in dark etched glass appear almost bronzed. Translucent chandeliers float overhead, imparting an airy lightness. Also, there’s good news for brides who worry about entertaining a crowd—the hotel can provide almost any size dance floor. And if your guest list is short, the Shilo Room is available for smaller receptions.
Shilo Hilltop Suites offers complete wedding planning services, supported by a list of preferred vendors. A big plus for clients is that the onsite catering company is separate from the hotel. This means they can focus entirely on weddings, conferences and banquets; for them, food service isn’t an afterthought, it’s a top priority. You can expect customized menus, expert advice and a very professional wait staff. Brides uniformly laud the food and service, noting that servers pay attention to small matters that often make or break a reception (and the memories that come after it): refilling cups and glasses, replenishing butter dishes and replacing dropped silverware or linen.
A range of packages, which fit nearly every budget and include everything but flowers and photos, reflect the hotel’s broad experience with events. As a matter of course they provide an elevated head table, wedding cake, choice of colored linens, champagne toast, dance floor, no-host bar and complimentary room and breakfast for the newlyweds.

Fees & Deposits
A deposit is required to reserve your date. The balance is due 10 days prior to the event. Rental fees are waived when food and beverage minimums are met. Meals range $27–65/person. Tax, alcohol and a 19% service charge are additional.
