Why We Like This Place
Sure, plenty of zoos have the requisite elephant or giraffe, but the Santa Barbara Zoo has something more: 30 acres of lush, exotic gardens laced with majestic ocean views! Such stunning scenic attributes make the location a “natural” setting for out-of-the-ordinary weddings.Day or night, the sprawling lawn of the Palm Garden is a breathtaking ceremony site. And when the park closes at 5pm, the entire zoo becomes your private wedding playground. For an unforgettable social hour, schedule a tour aboard the zoo train—the animals get to stay out past their bedtime for your exclusive entertainment (there’s nothing like the roar of an African lion to break the ice!).
The Zoo's catering team boasts “Wild Flavors with Civilized Service,” and will assist you with all of your catering and rental needs, from a relaxed barbecue to an elegant affair.
Conscience Bonus: The Santa Barbara Zoo is a private, nonprofit organization. Fees for special events help support the Zoo and its conservation efforts, and may even be tax-deductible!

Fees & Deposits
50% of the site fee plus a $300 security deposit is required to reserve your date and the balance is due 60 days prior to the event. Rental fees range $550–4,000 depending on the day and time of the event. Meals range $16–40/person. Tax, alcohol and an 18% service charge are additional.
