Description
Nowhere is the deeply satisfying sense of hospitality, abundance and grace more pervasive than at Rios Lovell Estate Winery. Lawns, gardens, gazebos and 18 acres of vineyards frame this hilltop Winery and Event Center. In only ten years of operation, Rios Lovell has grown into much more than an award-winning winery known for its gold medal Merlots, Cabs and Petite Sirahs—it’s become a Livermore Valley destination.
In the tasting area and gift shop, idyllic murals by local artists Nicolai Larsen and Cynthia Kelly evoke the pastoral peace and plenty of the French countryside. Hot-air balloons float in a pale blue sky. Stone archways open onto vistas of cobblestone streets and flower-banked windows. Outdoors, the amber-colored Livermore hills and a cerulean sky dotted with puffs of white cloud have exactly the same effect. Blossom-filled half barrels surround the stone patio. Wide walkways cross the grassy lawns to meet at fountains and beneath shady arbors. Birds twitter merrily away in the trees.
Cross the circular drive to the other side of the property, where the Event Center nests amid more patios and gardens. Begin at the processional archway, fretted with tiny roses and vines. A narrow path leads to a beautiful wedding gazebo framed by lawns, trees, flowers and the estate’s Merlot vineyards. Star jasmine and roses perfume the air, and careful landscaping creates color year-round. Follow one of the stone paths to a little bridge over a stream, where a waterfall tumbles musically into a pond. Nearby, a roomy outdoor pavilion outfitted with carriage lamps provides shade by day and dramatic lighting in the evenings. It’s a lovely open-air setting for a head table or buffet: the surrounding lawns and large patio area affording plenty of space for a reception, company dinner or a confab of guests enjoying aperitifs and passed hors d’oeuvres before entering the Events Center.
The Event Center’s entry room, floored in rose-colored tile, is just the place for a guest book and gift table, a prelude to the main event or an intimate soirée or buffet. For larger parties, the dining room, which features Nicolai Larsen’s trompe l’oeil murals—this time with a dramatically Tuscan feel—provides a delightful Old World setting for celebrating in glamour and style. Set up a cake table in front of a painted panel that spirits you off to the Italian countryside. Put a head table against either the cherub wall or the somewhat smaller staircase wall, where steps climb to the tower-like bride’s dressing room, a comfy mirror-filled place to change and take a breather. Day or night, winter, spring, summer or fall—you won’t want to leave. Drift with the music and revelry indoors and out, and discover why Rios Lovell is among the "Best of the Batch."

Fees & Deposits
50% of the rental fee is required to reserve your date. The balance is due 120 days prior to event date. Rental fees range $500–2,800 depending on the day and time of the event.
