Description
Consider this wedding scenario: the groom’s parents, who have a horror of anonymous hotels, are traveling across the country for the big event. They’d like to stay in a quiet B&B, cozy but stylish, with a pool and a garden surrounded by neat rows of olive trees (if it’s not too much to ask). The bridesmaids insist on treating the nervous bride to an indulgent set of spa treatments—facial, massage, salt glow—on the morning of the wedding. The bride’s mother is obsessed with the idea of a sit-down dinner of elegant grilled food—salmon, chicken, loads of Tuscan-style vegetables—followed by dancing in an elegant ballroom, with a view of the garden, which is a-twinkle with tiny white lights. The bride dreams of making her entrance to the ceremony down a staircase with a harpist playing on a balcony behind her, the groom wants to be married outside in the country, and all in all, the busy couple wish someone would just take over the planning for them.
Can all of these people have their wishes? Yes, indeed. Each of these things—and more—is possible at the Purple Orchid Inn. The physical beauty of this setting, along with the experienced staff, make for a memorable event.
Ringed by low hills and surrounded by vineyards and ranches, the Inn is a perfect hideaway for a family-centered wedding weekend or an executive retreat. You’ll have a strong sense of privacy here; the Inn can be entirely yours for either bridal or corporate events. You’re in a country setting, but the building and grounds are carefully groomed.
Attention to detail is evident everywhere—in the carved wooden guestroom doors, the fountain and waterfall, the smooth contours of the swimming pool, and in the abundance of flowers and plants. Ivy and ferns spill from pockets in the stone entryway wall, original artwork and lithographs adorn almost every room, painted vines twine through the dining hall, rose bushes lean along the front fence—and, of course, there are orchids, too.
Wedding ceremonies can take place in the dining room, with the French doors at the back thrown open to the pool and fountain just beyond, or in the garden under an arch of lavender that frames the olive trees surrounding the property. Either way, the bride has a staircase on which to make her dramatic descent.
So if, in fact, you really are feeling utterly overwhelmed and wish somebody would take charge for you, don’t hesitate to call. The Purple Orchid Inn can do everything or nothing at all, it’s up to you.

CEREMONY & EVENT/RECEPTION CAPACITY: Indoors, the dining area holds 50 seated guests; the Olive Branch Event Center holds 180 seated and the Olive Orchard holds up to 350 seated. There are a variety of other areas for ceremonies, including lawns, gardens and an area around the pool. |

Fees & Deposits
A $3,000 nonrefundable deposit is required to reserve your date. The rental balance is due 90 days prior to the event. Wedding packages start at $68/person and vary depending on guest count, menu, beverage package and space selected. Tax and service charge are additional.
Spa services can be arranged, and include massages, facials and other body care services.

Year-round, daily, 8am–11pm. Site tours are by appointment 1pm–4pm daily; always call in advance.
