Peachwood’s

Description

We’ve said it before, and we’ll say it again: if you want to make it easy on yourself, then there’s nothing like an elegant restaurant setting for your wedding or special event. And with its ultra-romantic ceremony garden, award-winning cuisine and on-site lodging, Peachwood’s, the popular steakhouse at the Inn at Pasatiempo, is an exceptional all-in-one event location. Set amongst the wooded foothills of the Santa Cruz mountains, Peachwood’s is a serene retreat embraced by nature, and embodying the style and grace of a quaint country villa.

Tucked between the Inn and the Restaurant’s banquet rooms is Peachwood’s spectacular wedding garden. Right from the start, it’s all hearts and flowers in this pastoral enclave: the very top of Lover’s Lane winds under a white lattice archway laced with flowering vines, and peach-colored paver stones at the base depict two interlocked hearts. Next, the wedding party strolls down a gently sloping lawn, past two large hearts cut from shrubbery that overlooks a lush bower bursting with color. Then the lawn levels to a grassy carpet of green, and Lover’s Lane becomes the wedding aisle, strewn with white rose petals. Couples come together at a white Victorian gazebo that resembles a miniature summer house. Tree branches whisper in the breeze, and the occasional trill of birdsong fills the sweetly scented air. Guests adjourn to Peachwood Terrace for hors d’oeuvres and beverages. This outdoor wooden deck is surrounded by oak and pine trees and enjoys a sweeping garden view. Planter boxes overflow with colorful blooms, and a nearby creek runs over river rocks polished smooth by the water’s perpetual flow.

When it’s time for the reception, French doors open from the Terrace right into the tastefully appointed event spaces. Three adjoining banquet areas are divided by pretty paned-glass doors, letting you customize the flow of your event. All of the rooms have a Country French flair, with light woods and pastels keeping the look warm and cheery. The Clock Room at the far end lets you dine by firelight under an open-beamed cathedral ceiling. Floral-upholstered booths and an impressive display of old-fashioned clocks are delightful accents. The Pasatiempo and Acacia Rooms face the Terrace and Garden, and convey an atmosphere of relaxed refinement.

One of the highlights of your reception at Peachwood’s is mealtime. Owner David Smith hails from Kansas City, and he’s designed his menu for hearty midwestern appetites and discriminating California palates. David’s rather picky about the quality of his ingredients, particularly the meats, which he prefers grilled to a juicy perfection over mellow peach wood. He’s a stickler about gracious service, too, yet so good-natured that he always personally lends a hand at reception carving stations.

When the last dance is over and goodnight kisses exchanged, it’s just a few steps to the Inn next door, where out-of-towners will want to spend the night. The comfortable and appealing accommodations look out past wooden shutters to the garden, and guests will appreciate the Inn’s proximity to local attractions, starting with Pasatiempo’s own golf course. Beach and mountain activities, wineries and amusement parks are all just minutes away. While your friends and family are enjoying their mini-vacation, you and your sweetie can snuggle up in your romantic fireplace suite, complete with canopy bed and a Jacuzzi tub.

Peachwood’s versatile spaces are also excellent choices for your rehearsal dinner or wedding shower. Your in-house event coordinator will handle everything with the congenial efficiency characteristic of all of Peachwood’s staff. The down-home friendliness at Peachwood’s is just one more reason to visit this Santa Cruz tradition, where everything is justpeachy!
