Description

A recent 65-million-dollar renovation—one of the most extensive in Marriott history—has completely transformed the Newport Beach Marriott. The hotel’s new look is contemporary chic, with dark woods, brushed metals and sleek lines throughout. And in addition to redoing all the existing event spaces and guestrooms, they’ve added a beautiful new ceremony spot as well as a full-service spa and state-of-the-art fitness center.

When you host your celebration here, you have several different venues to choose from. The Atrium, situated at the center of the hotel and open to the sky nine floors above, is a favorite for cocktail receptions, informal luncheons and candlelit winter ceremonies. Tables and chairs or wedding seating can be arranged in front of an ornate patina-covered bronze fountain, soaring two stories high and filling the Atrium with the musical sound of its splashing waters. Flower-filled planters and feathery palms add to the Atrium’s atmosphere.

If you’d prefer to get married or serve cocktails outdoors, reserve the Rose Garden, set at the edge of the property overlooking the Newport Beach Country Club Golf Course. This partial oceanview location features a central path leading to an immense white-timbered gazebo, which makes an impressive altar when festooned with flowers or draped with fabric. Guests are seated theater-style on a flagstone-and-grass "patio," surrounded by rose bushes and planters filled with colorful seasonal blooms.

The Marriott’s newest al fresco ceremony site is the Sea View Terrace, where couples tie the knot beneath a classic rotunda. From their slightly elevated vantage, they can see all of their family and friends, seated on either side of a long aisle that runs down the center of a manicured semicircular lawn. Every guest can easily witness the exchange of vows, along with a view of the nearby golf course and the ocean in the distance.

Indoor receptions take place in the elegant Grand Pacific and Newport Coast Ballrooms. Both are quite spacious, with twelve- to fifteen-foot ceilings, and accommodate large social functions. Light from multiple chandeliers and wall sconces is reflected in the mirrors placed around each ballroom’s perimeter, enhancing the airy and open feeling. You can dress up either room any way you like, from casual chic to glitzy formal.

One of the most gratifying things about staying over at The Newport Beach Marriott—besides the swank new guestrooms—is getting your soul soothed at the luxurious new 14,000-square-foot spa, which offers a plethora of body scrubs, facials, and therapeutic treatments. The bride and her entourage will also appreciate the full hair and nail salon services.

CEREMONY CAPACITY: The Atrium holds 150 seated, the Rose Garden 275 seated, and the Sea View Terrace 450 seated guests.

RECEPTION/EVENT CAPACITY: Several spaces accommodate 125–450 seated guests.

MEETING CAPACITY: Event spaces can accommodate 10–875 seated guests.

Fees & Deposits

25% of the food and beverage minimum is payable when your contract is submitted. Half the estimated event total is due 4 months prior to the wedding. The ceremony/reception fee, ranging $2,800–3,500, includes on-site coordination during the event, all setup services, white aisle runner, rehearsal time and 2 guestrooms the evening before and through the day of the event, plus an oceanview bridal suite for the bride and groom’s wedding night. The event balance is payable 3 days prior, along with a guaranteed guest count. Seated luncheons start at $84/person, seated dinners at $99/person and buffets at $118/person. Wedding cake, champagne toast, passed hors d’oeuvres, wine during dinner, and full bar and fruit punch for 1 hour pre-reception are included in these prices. Other beverages, tax and a 22% service charge are additional. Kosher meals can be provided.
