Description
On the ride to Maderas Golf Club, you sense this is not just another golf course. Winding through palm and avocado groves that dot the rocky hillsides, the country road that once transported wagons and stagecoaches is now lined with landscaped walking and bridle trails that serve the leisure class. As you turn up the long driveway to Maderas, the quiet beauty of the valley opens around you. Surrounded not by the glitz of the city, but by the relaxed elegance of upscale country living, you’ve arrived at the playground.Wrought-iron sconces light the arched portico of the Tuscan-style clubhouse. A heavy oak door reveals an Old World atmosphere inside, where substantial yet comfy furnishings add to the warmth. There’s a feeling of exclusivity here, as if you’re one of the family at a tasteful estate.
Everyone appreciates the view shared by two outdoor ceremony sites. Whether you’re down close to the greenery and wild flowers at Sunset Rock Terrace or perched on the grassy Del Lago Garden, the natural splendor and clear air of the tranquil valley, carpeted with lawns and crisscrossed by meandering streams, make a spectacular impression. An attendant will chauffeur you to the cascading waterfalls, rocky outcroppings and quaint footbridges, all of which provide dramatic photo opportunities.
After celebrating your union with cocktails en plein air, guests stroll into one of two reception rooms. Both venues offer gourmet meals prepared with fresh produce, quality meats and savory seasonings, resulting in dishes that are tasty without being fussy.
The Clubhouse Grille is a sophisticated, yet casual, option for smaller gatherings. Large picture windows on three walls frame an unobstructed panoramic view of the fairways, while French doors lead to a two-tiered patio, a favorite spot for sampling champagne and hors d’oeuvres or al fresco dining. Larger groups converge in the Del Lago Ballroom next door. Although it’s the most recent addition to the club, no expense was spared in making it feel like an integral part of the property, down to the massive door and wrought-iron chandeliers that match the original building. Sconces and warm wood trim adorn the goldenrod walls; tumbled travertine graces the floors. Tall windows and French doors open to the soothing breeze, which keeps the almost 3,800-square-foot space feeling like part of the outdoors. Custom-designed upholstered parlor chairs let friends and family relax in comfort until the call to the dance floor can be resisted no longer.
Women love the ballroom’s bridal changing area, because every detail was executed with the bride and her attendants in mind: a plush, custom silk sofa covered with silk pillows; multiple full-length mirrors; special hooks to hold delicate gowns and dresses; a convenient private bathroom; and natural light for applying makeup. Obviously Maderas puts as much care into creating a total wedding facility as it does in running a golf course. If Zagat rated wedding venues, Maderas might just receive the same #1 rating that its golf course has already earned.

Fees & Deposits
A $2,500 deposit is required to reserve your date. The balance is due 21 days prior to the event. Rental fees range $1,200–2,500 depending on the space rented. Wedding packages range $83 and up per person. Tax, alcohol and a 20% service charge are additional.
