Why We Like This Place
Surrounded by the Topa Topa Mountains and boasting some of the best weather in the country, the affluent rural community of Camarillo has become a quintessential Southern California town. Its ambiance is at once upscale and laid-back, and almost everyone you meet offers a friendly greeting. Since 1958, Las Posas Country Club has been a gracious exponent of Camarillo’s congenial attitude and idyllic surroundings; recently, this private destination began welcoming non-members to celebrate weddings and other special occasions.
The contemporary clubhouse has a grand flagstone portico embellished with an exuberant bower of greenery and flowers, testament to the neighborhood’s fertile valleys. Inside, the décor is tasteful and refined. Potted palms, gilded mirrors and wall sconces enliven a color scheme of creamy taupe and pale moss. Walls of windows and glass doors look out to the patios, where guests gather for the early phases of a wedding.
Ceremonies are held on the Dining Room Terrace, a pretty brick patio that overlooks the rolling green fairways of the Las Posas golf course, with the tree-studded mountains beyond. Couples usually place their decorated arch or chuppah so that the delightful view flanks the rows of white wood padded guest chairs; a petite putting green bordered by rose bushes frames the bride and groom.
Following the ceremony, guests are escorted along a curved promenade to the Bar and Grill. These two spaces are separated by a sleek marble island, the perfect spot for a lavish floral or appetizer display. A long granite bar gives guests plenty of room to order their beverages and hang out. With its sloped, rough wood ceiling, skylights and fireplace, the Bar and Grill takes on a homey atmosphere. Lofty windows and glass doors around the Grill embrace the mountain silhouette and rose bushes so that even indoors, guests are treated to a vision of the scenic countryside.
When “dinner is served,” the newlyweds lead their friends and family a few steps across a foyer to the beautifully appointed Main Dining Room. They’ll be impressed when they sink into their plush armchairs—your DJ or bandleader may have to work a little harder than usual to coax them out of their comfortable seats! As they dine, guests enjoy a vista of feathery treetops, a spectacular mountainscape and expansive greens.
The staff at Las Posas takes great pride in their service and their cuisine; whether you fancy haute gourmet fare or a family-style barbecue, your chef and banquet coordinator will work with you to plan a menu that satisfies. Fees & Deposits
A $1,500 deposit is required to reserve your date. The balance is due 1 week prior to the event. Rental fees range $750–1,450 depending on the space rented and type of event. Meals range $24–75/person. Tax, alcohol, and a 17.5% service charge are additional.
Availability
Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, 3pm–midnight for weddings or special events. Saturday weddings can also be earlier in the day. There is a 130-guest minimum for a Saturday event and an 80-guest minimum for a weekday event.
