InterContinental Los Angeles Century City

Description

The best way to ensure a flawless wedding celebration is to go with a name you know and respect. The InterContinental Los Angeles Century City not only comes with the sterling reputation of the InterContinental hotel group, it features an enchanting garden, food that’s (almost!) too extraordinary to eat, and impeccable service.

Ideally situated on Avenue of the Stars, the hotel overlooks the Fox studios, and is just minutes away from the lively Century City Shopping Plaza and Beverly Hills’ famous Rodeo Drive. (The hotel has a complimentary Mercedes limousine to ferry you to these and other local destinations). Once you enter the large circular drive, verdantly landscaped with trees and flowering shrubs, you’re welcomed to the InterContinental’s luxurious atmosphere by the soothing sounds of a waterfall in the motor court.

The lobby is a study in understated elegance, with its judicious use of inlaid marble, crackle-glass sconces and gracefully fluted tables set with tall vases of flowers. Three tiers of expansive skylights bathe the area in natural light during the day; large opaque glass chandeliers give it a soft glow in the evening. Straight ahead is the sophisticated Park Lounge, with the California-cuisine Park Grill Restaurant behind it.

In planning your wedding celebration, why not include a day at the sumptuous Spa Intercontinental? With its hushed atmosphere and private outdoor terrace, it’s an excellent prelude to the big event for you and your bridal party. Once thoroughly pampered and relaxed, you’ll be able to fully appreciate the hotel’s lush garden for your wedding ceremony. The large lawn, bordered by flowers and trees, has a center stone pathway for your walk down the aisle to a raised natural altar that’s ringed with flagstone. This south-facing bit of Eden (guests don’t have to squint into the sun), can comfortably accommodate 300 guests. Once you’re pronounced husband and wife, the festivities begin with a cocktail reception on the surrounding shaded patio. Heaters are provided in case there’s a chill, or if you prefer cocktails indoors, bring your guests to the Grand Foyer, located to the right of the main lobby.

With only one wedding scheduled at a time, you and your guests will enjoy this entire wing of the hotel, moving easily from the gold-toned Foyer to the Grand Salon for dinner and dancing. Here the décor is French influenced, with large crystal-and-brass chandeliers suspended from high ceilings, and fabric-covered walls embroidered with gold foliage. The reception’s white-glove service—like the service throughout the hotel—prides itself on anticipating your every need.

In addition to your exquisitely appointed, complimentary Bridal Room, the hotel offers special rates on rooms for your out-of-town guests. And, having picked a location whose name is synonymous with quality and service, you know they’ll be in good hands even after you’ve left for your honeymoon.
