Description

Do you want to have your party in a spectacular place? Well then, the Hyatt Regency Long Beach may be just what you’re looking for. Towering sixteen stories above Long Beach’s Rainbow Harbor, the Hyatt’s shimmering façade of mirrored windows reflects the essence of southern California—a sparkling blue sky, swaying palms and Pacific harbor views. The Hyatt is equally spectacular on the inside, with its spacious, uncluttered architecture and marble-tiled, light-infused atrium lobby.

Flanking the hotel’s south side is a wide stretch of lawn where ceremonies are held. Here, the bride and groom exchange vows on cool green grass, with the serene waters of the Rainbow Lagoon serving as an enchanting backdrop. Some brides have even used the lagoon as a “port of entry” for their wedding by gliding up in a gondola and stepping regally onto the shore. After the ceremony, the newlyweds often pose for pictures on the lagoon’s small islands and arching Japanese bridges.

For receptions, there are several sites to choose from, one of the most popular being the Beacon Ballroom. With its wall of floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking Long Beach’s Rainbow Harbor, the Queen Mary and Catalina Island, the Beacon is truly a room with a view. If you’re planning a more formal event, then you’ll want to move your party to the fourth floor Regency Ballroom, an enormous space with sixteen-foot-high ceilings and a glittering, wall-to-wall canopy of lights. If your guest list is more modest, then the smaller Seaview Ballroom, with its four-story atrium cocktail area, may be the setting that speaks to you.

Oh yes, lest we forget…the Hyatt’s savvy catering staff and Executive Chef preside over all special events, assuring you a worry-free celebration and ample time to enjoy it.

CEREMONY CAPACITY: The Rainbow Lagoon holds up to 500 seated guests.

EVENT/RECEPTION CAPACITY: Several ballrooms seat 150–750 guests.

MEETING CAPACITY: The Hyatt accommodates 32–1,400 seated guests theater-style, 12–600 classroom-style or 12–500 conference-style, depending on the meeting room selected.

Fees & Deposits

For weddings, a 25% nonrefundable deposit is payable within 10 days after receipt of the contract. The estimated event balance is payable with a cashier’s check 1 week prior or with a personal check 14 days prior to the function. The guest count guarantee is due 72 hours in advance. There are 9 wedding packages in addition to customized menus. Luncheons run $53–85/person and dinners $61–101/person; both include a 3-course meal, 1-hour hosted cocktails, champagne toast, wedding cake, cake cutting, mirrors and votive candles on tables and a complimentary room and bottle of champagne for bride and groom. Tax and a 20% service charge are additional. Chair and riser setup for ceremonies runs $7/person.

For business functions and meetings, a 25% nonrefundable deposit is payable within 10 days after receipt of the contract. Luncheons run $30–38/person and dinners $39–56/person. Room fees vary; call for details.

Availability

Year-round, daily. For weddings, Saturdays 11am–5pm or evening receptions starting at 6pm. Time frames are more flexible during other days of the week. For business functions and meetings, generally 7am–5pm or 6pm–11:30pm.
