Holbrook Palmer Park

Description

Holbrook Palmer Park is an old estate, complete with historic buildings, mature oak trees and an 1870 water tower. Located on Watkins Avenue between El Camino and Middlefield Road, the park occupies 22 acres of open space in exclusive residential Atherton.

The Main House rests in the center of the property and has wide, gracious steps that lead from the main reception room down to a spacious patio framed by large trees. The patio is perfect for an outdoor ceremony and has a lovely wedding arbor.

Nearby is the Jennings Pavilion, a modern structure which can accommodate large events and bands. Outside the Pavilion is another patio which is appropriate for outdoor seated functions. Additionally, the 1896 Carriage House is available for special parties and can be rented in conjunction with a large meadow area.

Although you might think that a facility in prestigious Atherton would require formality, just the opposite is true: the feeling here is relaxed and informal.

CEREMONY CAPACITY: The Main House holds 60 seated or 100 standing; the Main House Patio, 200 seated guests.

EVENT/RECEPTION CAPACITY: The Main House, with outdoor seating, can accommodate 100 guests; the Jennings Pavilion holds 200 guests including outside seating; the Carriage House seats 80 guests.

MEETING CAPACITY: Event spaces accommodate 30–200 seated guests.

Fees & Deposits

For weddings, a $1,000 refundable security/damage deposit is required when reservations are made. Fees range $2,500–3,500 depending on guest count and resident status. Residents of Atherton pay a discounted rental fee. The use fee is required 1 month before the event. Fees are based on a 7-hour use period; 1–2 hours for setup, 4–5 hours for the event, 1 hour for cleanup. For events exceeding 7 hours, a charge of $100/hour will apply. Additional hours must be arranged in advance.

For meetings and business functions, the rates range $200–500 depending on space and time rented and guest count. Call for details.

Availability

Saturday weddings or special events, 10am–5pm or 5pm–midnight, including setup and cleanup. Sundays (only one event/day), 10am–9pm; cleanup must be completed by 10pm. Friday weddings and social events, 5pm–midnight, including cleanup.

Business functions, year-round, daily. Half-day events are held 8am–noon or 1pm–5pm; full-day events 8am–5pm; evening events 5pm–10pm. Additional hours can be arranged.
