Description

Greens is a special restaurant, not just because of its waterfront location at Fort Mason, or because it’s owned by a Zen Buddhist organization, or because it serves gourmet vegetarian fare with flair. This place is special because the space makes you feel so good.

Greens has enormous multipaned windows extending the entire length of the restaurant. These windows have superb views of the Golden Gate Bridge and of the boat harbor just beyond the building. At sunset, the waning light reflected off the bridge and boats is a stunning sight to see. And for smaller events, Greens can serve you in their private room which features the same wonderful views. The interior of Greens is exceptional, with excellent original artwork, unusual carved wood seating and tables, and a high vaulted ceiling. The overall impression is light, airy and comfortable.

And just in case you think Greens serves bean sprouts and tofu, think again. Their menus are diverse, with wide-ranging entrées that appeal to vegetarians and non-vegetarians alike. Mouth-watering hors d’oeuvres, savory vegetable tarts, hearty pasta and filo dishes and an extensive wine list help make Greens one of the most popular places in San Francisco. We have a feeling that long after the party’s over, your wedding guests will return to sample Greens’ other culinary delights on their own.

CEREMONY CAPACITY: The Main Dining Room holds 180 standing with 18 seated guests. EVENT/RECEPTION CAPACITY: The Main Dining Room accommodates 140 guests for a seated meal and up to 180 for an hors d’oeuvres reception; the private room holds up to 45 guests for a seated meal and up to 60 for a standing reception.

Fees & Deposits

A $300–1,500 deposit (depending on space rented) is required to reserve a date and will be credited to the final invoice. Full meal service is provided. Rates vary according to guest count and start at $35/person (for 40 guests) in the private room and $65/person (for 110 guests) in the Main Dining Room. This includes space rental for 4 hours, labor, linens, flowers and candles. Alcohol, tax and an 18% service charge are additional. Extra time can be arranged. Beyond 4 hours, there’s a $400/hour fee.
