Description
Nestled in the foothills northeast of San Diego, the Escondido Country Club proves you don’t need to be near the beach to enjoy all the relaxed, sunny charm for which Southern California is so well known.
Ceremonies take place in a tranquil, lovingly tended garden looking out onto rolling fairways with rock-studded dessert mountains rising in the distance. The air bears the faint fragrance of flowers planted within circles of rocks along the perimeter of the seating area. Guests sit surrounded by full, thriving trees—most notably purple-leaf plum trees that bear gorgeous pink blossoms in spring—as they watch bride and groom exchange vows in a classic white wedding gazebo.
Except for smaller weddings, receptions typically take place in the bright and airy Mountain View Room. Light pours in through a wall of windows that extend from floor to cathedral ceiling. Glass doors open out to a tented poolside patio known as the Pavilion, giving the wedding a seamless indoor-outdoor feel.
The bridal party sits at a long head table in front of an oversized fireplace whose mantel is decorated with flowers. Instead of the standard 10-person rounds, guests sit at long rectangular tables, which makes dining feel more like a dinner party than a banquet. A colored table runner, a few clusters of votive candles and a sprinkling of flower petals provide enough decoration, but two small centerpieces also work well. Seating can spill out into the Pavilion, which is lit by chandeliers and heated with standing lamps at night.
The club’s Grand Ballroom is ideal for smaller weddings. With its emphasis on architectural detail, this charming venue is quite different from the broad and open Mountain View. Though the room is "grand" in the terms of its elegance, it’s actually quite intimate and cozy. One of its great features is the tall casement windows set in alcoves along the wall. Each of these alcoves has a prominent decorative molding above it that can act as a shelf for a flower arrangement that spills over the side.
Beyond the appealing event spaces, the staff at the Escondido Country Club is eager to work with you to create the perfect party. While they offer standard packages, they’re also happy to customize a package to satisfy your needs and budget.
Their genuine interest in your well-being shows in the large and comfortable bride’s and groom’s dressing rooms. Grooms in particular will be sold on the room reserved for them and their attendants—it’s the club’s billiard room, so they can play pool while they await the festivities.
The Escondido Country Club has managed to create a setting that is distinctive yet relaxed, exclusive yet friendly. You and your guests will undoubtedly savor the harmonious contradictions.

Fees & Deposits
30% of the estimated event total is required to reserve your date. The balance is due 7 days prior to the event. Rental fees range $0–1,500 depending on the event. Meals range $15–75/person. Tax, alcohol and a 19% service charge are additional.
