Why We Like This Place

It's easy to see why the Doubletree Guest Suites Anaheim Resort is consistently rated one of the best and most beautiful hotels in the area. Built in the Italianate style, its cream and white exterior is graced with tall columns, a curving porte-cochère and stately trees in earthenware pots. Inside, the stunning lobby is worthy of a palazzo. Its grand proportions provide the perfect canvas for such artistic flourishes as a domed ceiling that's been hand-painted around the perimeter, faux-finished gold columns and polished travertine floors—all enhanced with a warm palette of dark woods and textiles in rich red and gold. Flowers are everywhere, filling this light, open space with orchids and eye-catching arrangements of fresh-cut blooms in large glass vases.

The Italian sense of style and appreciation for art and artisan workmanship can be seen throughout the entire property. To the left of the lobby is the Grappa Lounge, a sophisticated watering hole with gold disk light fixtures, a brown granite bar and elegantly curved chairs clustered around cocktail tables. Just beyond this is a hallway—adorned with stunning artwork à la Gustav Klimt's most famous pieces—that leads to Agio Ristorante. Here, you can create a separate section for an intimate reception or a rehearsal dinner. Tastefully decorated with tall arched windows and clusters of those wonderful, disk light fixtures, the restaurant also features a gated patio for dining or enjoying cocktails al fresco.

But if complete privacy and grandeur is what you want, then you'll be delighted with the Tuscany Ballroom and Foyer on the other side of the lobby. The Foyer is a luxe spot for cocktails or even your ceremony. (In fact, if you have your ceremony at the hotel, you'll get a discount on your rehearsal dinner). This grand space mixes Italian design with a touch of Art Deco, like the curved end tables; fabulous milk-glass chandeliers, reminiscent of Murano glass; square columns; and all those great red, ochre and terracotta shades of a Siena hillside, swirled together in the carpet. The Ballroom itself continues the upscale look and offers still more fantastic lighting with iron-and-glass chandeliers hanging from the coffered ceiling.

The Doubletree's event staff are as flexible as the event spaces are elegant: They delight in working with all budgets and ethnic requests to make your wedding uniquely yours. They've brought in marching mariachis, Chinese dragon dancers that snaked around the ballroom, and hosted Korean tea ceremonies. They will customize menus (including vegan fusion requests), steer you towards a kosher caterer or anything else they can't provide, and personalize your place settings and menu cards. And, of course, at the end of the festivities they give you a lovely place to spend the night: your own mini-palazzo in the form of a complimentary suite.

Fees & Deposits

50% of the food and beverage minimum is required to reserve your date and the balance is due 72 hours prior to the event. Meals range $55–90/person. Tax, alcohol and a 21% service charge are additional. Receptions are held in 6-hour blocks, including 1 hour of cocktails in the foyer and 5 hours in the ballroom.
