Desert Springs JW Marriott Resort & Spa

Description

You wouldn’t expect to find a tropical paradise in the middle of the desert, but the imaginative hoteliers at JW Marriott have created one. The enchanting Desert Springs JW Marriott Resort & Spa unfolds amid 450 acres of lushly landscaped grounds, glistening lakes and flowing waterways. Your first sight of the resort is a rainbow of color—the green fairways encircled by red, orange and yellow flowers, and a flock of pink flamingoes bathing in the blue lagoons. A recent $12 million renovation includes the addition of a dramatic porte-cochère with fountains spilling into reflecting pools of Italian tile. The breathtaking, vaulted atrium lobby evokes the illusion of being outdoors. Everywhere you look, palm trees and greenery are flourishing, and exotic birds display their plumage. Visitors refresh themselves at a 60-foot bar, flanked by glass mosaic water-walls. The centerpiece of the lobby is a lake with two boarding docks, so visitors can tour the resort’s Venetian-style canals via gondola!

Across the lobby, picture windows soar eight stories high showcasing another multihued vista of golf greens, swimming pools and lagoons. In the distance the Santa Rosa Mountains are a rugged counterpoint to the powder-blue desert sky. With a cavalcade of topnotch dining, recreation and relaxation options, this award-winning 4-star resort would be at the top of any traveler’s list. However, Desert Springs is especially appreciated by wedding couples who long for the romance of a desert oasis.

A favorite ceremony site is The Pointe, a narrow peninsula of manicured lawn extending out into the sapphire-blue lake. The bride arrives by boat, drifting past the graceful swans and koi-filled waterways to a small dock near the wedding aisle. The groom awaits her in front of a wedding arch that rests at the tip of the peninsula. Another option is the Grove, which offers a large pergola-topped stage flanked by two beautiful paintings of hummingbirds. The trees around the perimeter are decked with twinkle lights, contributing to an aura of enchantment during evening ceremonies. The Serenity Pond, surrounded by lawn and verdant foliage, appeals to those who seek the simplicity of an intimate wedding. A portable arch or Roman columns are placed on the grass, and in the background ducks and sea birds frolic in the tranquil pool.

Post-ceremony cocktails are often served on the Springs Patio, which overlooks the resort grounds. For an interior gathering place, the roomy Ballroom Foyer provides a gracious setting, and the two ballrooms are luxurious and spacious. Elegant chandeliers and wall sconces in glass and iron enhance the polished, upscale ambiance.

From rehearsal dinner to the last dance, your event will receive the high-caliber “white glove service” that has earned Desert Springs their prestigious Gold Platter Award. Their motto, “1 resort, 100 adventures,” hints at tempting amenities that make this place a favorite for destination events. With six diverse dining venues, a shopping promenade, two championship golf courses, twenty tennis courts and five swimming pools, friends and family entertain themselves while newlyweds savor their alone time. What’s more, the Spa has everything you need to keep mind, body and spirit in tune, including a salon to ensure you’re “in style” for your big day.

The logo of the Desert Springs is the hummingbird, which in folklore represents “a vibration of pure joy.” Those fortunate enough to spend time at this exciting resort are sure to experience their own “good vibrations.”
