Crowne Plaza Los Angeles Harbor

Description

There is something about watching sleek oceanliners pull away from the dock and take off for parts unknown that fires the imagination; and what better place to observe international sea traffic than in San Pedro, which boasts the largest and busiest port in America. Poised at the crossroads of the world, San Pedro offers visitors the unique shopping experience of the Ports of Call; culture and learning at the L.A. Maritime Museum and Cabrillo Marine Aquarium; the tidepools of Cabrillo beach; and the exciting spectacle of windsurfers plying the brisk breezes of "Hurricane Alley." San Pedro is also a close-knit community that regularly welcomes foreigners to its shores, and knows how to make visitors feel like honored guests. That same spirit of hospitality is artfully expressed at the Crowne Plaza Los Angeles Harbor Hotel.

The moment you enter the resplendent hotel lobby, you’re enveloped by an enchanting melody coming from the grand player piano. Light from magnificent beaded chandeliers plays over the potted palms and bromeliads, subtly melding the room’s elegant contemporary and tropical elements. Colors evocative of East Indian spices—green peppercorns, earthy cinnamon and cloves—wash over walls and furnishings, and the whole space weaves a tastefully exotic spell that vibrates with the promise of romance.

Romantic wedding ceremonies are held outdoors on the Pool Plaza, where a lovely gazebo showcases the happy couple. After the tears of joy are dried, guests enter the gated pool area and enjoy hors d’oeuvres and champagne. The pool area is surrounded by trees and shrubbery and overlooks the bustling port below. Guests can gaze upon the shipping lanes and daydream of faraway lands.

The magical mood continues when the party moves indoors, where every detail speaks of opulence—even the elevators have satin upholstered panels and mirrored accents! Gray columns define the striking Grand Ballroom Foyer, where guests mingle atop plush carpeting and a cool marble floor the color of storm clouds. Inside the Grand Ballroom the ceiling is alive with shimmering triple-tiered chandeliers, while beaded crystal sconces cast iridescent halos across the walls. This glorious Ballroom brings to mind the lavish palace where Anna and the King shared their first dance.

Another famous pair of lovers was the inspiration for the Crowne Plaza’s lounge and restaurant. Juliet’s Restaurant is beautifully decorated with crystal chandeliers, tropical floral arrangements, and partitions of frosted glass. Take over Juliet’s for your reception, and guests can relax in richly upholstered armchairs with elaborately carved wooden trim. Two marble archways lead to Juliet’s Landing, a semi-private dining space that’s great for rehearsal dinners or intimate gatherings. Juliet’s also has its own outdoor terrace with white lattice planters trimmed in colorful bougainvillea.

Right next door, Romeo’s Lounge and Nightclub has all you need for a happening party, including a double-sided bar, a sound and light booth for customized effects, a dance floor and even a stage. Whether you kick off your engagement here or turn your reception into a rockin’ celebration, Romeo’s won’t let you down.

Wind up a successful reception by retiring to your deluxe suite high up over the town. Pull back the curtains and take in the sparkling panorama of the L.A. Port, with the Vincent Thomas Bridge lit up like a constellation and the moonlight glittering on the water. As you reflect on the hotel’s superior service, luxurious setting and terrific views you realize that the Crowne Plaza has indeed provided a wonderful gateway to your future.
