Description
Everything works just right at Canyon Crest, a country club whose combined outdoor and indoor assets are appealing for all types of events, especially weddings.A tree-lined boulevard sweeps its way to the club, making you feel like you’ve arrived at a capital “D” destination. The golf course, set along the contours of a natural bowl at the foot of desert mountains, has a touch of the exotic, with its subtropical assortment of palms, pines and eucalyptus. A fountain in the middle of a manmade lake jets water 50 feet into the air against a backdrop of nearby peaks.
But perhaps the best feature on the grounds is the ceremony site: A simple white stone arch—which you can decorate any way you like—sits at the edge of a knoll above the course, flanked by a lawn where guests assemble to witness vows. Overlooking the lake and fountain, fairways and scenery, this spot feels set apart from the country club’s bustle.
The broad red canopy that shades the steps down from the parking lot to the clubhouse’s gleaming glass doors imparts a decidedly upscale feel. Walk inside to the dining room, where an all-glass wall lets you gaze out on the vast and impressive green of the course—in fact, lush green is all you see. Three wide doors open onto an adjoining canopied terrace, which offers a splendid view of the fairways, lake and nearby highlands. Located just above the putting green, the tiled terrace is ideal for hosting pre- and post-wedding gatherings and cocktails, and it serves as an overflow space for dining. At dusk, lights strung along its rails and overhead supports create an enchanting look.
Just off the terrace is a spacious room set aside for a bride and her bridesmaids. The room, which is perfect for hanging out and relaxing, happens to be located so that she and her entourage can discreetly peek out the windows to see who’s arrived and what’s going on.
The coordinator here takes care of everything—vendor selection, menu planning, setup and takedown. She is there at the rehearsal and on the day of the wedding to make sure all goes well. The flexible kitchen can custom-design menus, offer experienced recommendations and provide almost any style of food. Canyon Crest also accommodates rehearsal dinners, bridal showers and brunches. The club is private, so indoor music can go on forever. (Outdoor music has to shut down by 11pm.)
We think Canyon Crest’s good looks and versatile kitchen, as well as its relaxed feel and flow make it one of the Inland Empire’s best contenders for a one-stop, affordable wedding venue.
