Description
Nestled in the canyons and arroyos along the northern slopes of the Santa Monica Mountains, Braemar Country Club offers an oasis of peace away from the hustle and bustle of the city. The 46-year-old clubhouse evokes an airy subtropical mansion: one walks on cool creamy marble through an open floor plan flooded with natural light. Graceful columns along every hallway help further the colonial motif, as do the French doors and the tiled deck that encircles the entire structure. In all that brightness the jade, burgundy and caramel tones of the carpet and cozy furniture provide a restful counterpoint for the eye.
The best location for an indoor ceremony is a versatile suite of three rooms, each of which overlooks the same spectacular view: the emerald hills of the golf course in the foreground, the Santa Susanna and San Gabriel mountains in the background. Laid out in an L-shape with floor-to-ceiling windows, the rooms can be opened up to allow for very large parties or closed off by partitions into five separate spaces serving as cocktail area, banquet hall with dance floor, and ceremony site.
Outdoor events take place on the putting greens overlooking the golf courses, the city lights and the San Gabriel Mountains. The bridal procession makes its way down a long center aisle between the pools to a green-and-white striped canopy where the ceremony is performed. This is an especially nice spot at dusk, with tiny lights sprinkled in the surrounding trees and a warm breeze wafting through the air. A handsome tiled bar is set up nearby for cocktails, and while your guests are sipping champagne, they can admire the floral arrangements floating in the smaller pool. Although most receptions are held inside, the club has hosted plenty of al fresco dinners around the pool. You can also dine in the Main Dining Room, or exchange vows in the small canopied courtyard next to the pool area. Flexibility is the name of the game here, and no matter how you orchestrate your celebration, nature is always within reach.

Fees & Deposits
For weddings, a $1,000 nonrefundable deposit is required to hold your date. 50% of the estimated event total is payable 60 days prior to the event; the balance and a guest count guarantee are due 5 days prior. Reception luncheons run approximately $64–99/person, dinners $71-100/person. Hors d’oeuvres, alcohol, tax and a 20% service charge are additional. Wedding receptions are held in 5-hour blocks; overtime is $350/hour. The cleanup/setup fee runs $500–1,000, depending on the room and day of week selected, and includes the dance floor, room rental, linens and cake cutting fee. A $1,000 (indoors) or $1,600 (outdoors) ceremony fee includes rehearsal, coordinator and an extra half hour for the ceremony.
For business functions or meetings, a nonrefundable deposit is required to hold your date. All-day meeting packages, including breakfast, lunch and afternoon snack, start at $19/person. A $50–800 cleanup/setup fee, depending on room and menu, is an extra charge.
