Once the daytime crowd of wholesale shoppers has vacated this spacious showmart, LIVE! @ 888 Brannan (formerly the San Francisco Giftcenter Pavilion) becomes Super Venue thanks to state-of-the-art sound and lighting systems!
Want to hold your party in the Casbah? No problem! How about an "Atlantis" theme with mermaids and giant cellophane jellyfish? They can do it. A partial list of their well-known clients includes Levi Strauss, MGM Films and Coca-Cola. The Pacific Crest Outward Bound School even holds a "Black Tie and Tennis Shoes" party here, with rappelling walls for rock climbing and bungee jumping from the fifth story of the atrium. Afraid of heights? They can accommodate more traditional celebrations as well.
The main area is a towering five-story atrium, Art Deco in style, with three tiers of seating that overlook the multilevel hardwood stage and Terrazzo dance floor. For weddings, there’s a dressing room behind the stage for the bridal party. Two glass elevators and a grand staircase allow easy access to all levels, and the unique design of the atrium insures that no one is ever more than 80 feet from the stage. Ficus trees, palm trees, and banks of flowers and shrubs make a garden-like setting, which is underscored by the airy green-and-white color scheme. Effective as the color scheme is, its true purpose is revealed only at night. Green fades to black, and the white areas serve as huge canvasses to be painted on with light.
It’s this capacity for painting with light (and sound) that makes LIVE! @ 888 Brannan such an exceptional site. Though we weren’t fortunate enough to see the system in operation, we saw photographs and were amazed at the astounding array of events the facility has staged: a party for Dole Foods with Carmen Miranda/Chiquita Banana logos projected on the ceiling; a 1969 Fillmore-type light show with psychedelic designs; a rock & roll party complete with pyrotechnics and smoke shooting out of the ceiling. Picture tattoo artists, wall-to-wall balloons, or go-go dancers suspended from the ceiling in cages. LIVE! @ 888 Brannan can do it all—from tame, formal dinner parties to sizzling, corporate raves. For more intimate soireés, the atrium’s height can be "lowered" by making a false ceiling out of huge strips of spandex and projecting designs onto it. A more traditional black-tie treatment—that was nonetheless breathtaking—was done this way, with giant bouquets of white roses in pedestal vases and white twinkle lights suspended from the spandex swags.
Smaller parties (for 100 or fewer) can be comfortably accommodated in the sixth-floor penthouse. This room can also be used as a VIP reception area or for a band. So, let your imagination run wild. Chances are LIVE! @ 888 Brannan is equal to any challenge you can dream up.

Fees & Deposits
The rental fee starts at $7,000, and depends on number of floors rented. To reserve your date, half the estimated event total and a $1,000 refundable damage deposit are required; the balance is payable 60 days prior to the event. The Giftcenter offers full coordination services, from a light and sound system with technicians to theme parties with props.
Best Beverage Catering is the exclusive on-site beverage provider for Live! @ 888 Brannan. You will contract with them separately.
