Colleen + Onur at University of Chicago

We love how Lynn describes this bride's vision for her wedding flowers, "Refined roadside...AKA English garden gone wild."

The bridal bouquet incorporated blushing tones of lily of the valley, Juliet garden roses, peonies, stock, dusty miller, and flowering dogwood.

The bridesmaids' bouquets had a bolder punch of color with vibrant spray roses, Juliet garden roses, peonies, dahlias, scabiosa, and stock. Lynn says she loved the color scheme—or lack thereof!

Bride Reviews

“My husband and I agree that hiring Five Grain Events was the best decision we made about our wedding. They made everything else easy.”

“I think the most unique thing about Five Grain events is that they make you feel like yours is the only wedding they’re planning. You forget that you are one of many brides that they are working with because they give you their undivided attention. They make every meeting important and fun.”

“Our Big Day was perfect. I was able to enjoy every moment without ever having to worry about a thing.”

“She answered EVERY question promptly and was always there for us. Her constant communication was vital throughout the entire process.”

“YES we were VERY happy with the vendor referrals Five Grain Events provided. Almost all of our vendors were Joan’s recommendations and we couldn’t have been happier.”

“Our wedding day was by far the best day of my life. Everything was more than on time—we were actually ahead of schedule a couple of times throughout the day.”

I had a vision and Joan made it happen. She attended every meeting with potential vendors and was able to articulate my ideas to the vendors in a very constructive way. She absolutely listened to what I wanted, and she made sure I got everything we agreed on.”

“Joan has an amazing personal touch, which is by far one of the most important aspects of a wedding planner. You feel as though you are the one and only wedding on Joan’s schedule and always have her constant attention.”

“Joan is very good at what she does. Often times she would remind me of things or remember small details that I couldn’t. I was never worried or anxious during the planning.”

“When the reception was ending I asked Joan if we needed to go get taxis to the next location, she said, ‘there are six taxis waiting outside.’ Little things like that happened throughout the evening and Joan was always several steps ahead of everyone else, and yet still present enough to address immediate issues effectively.”

“Joan made sure our wedding went smoothly so that we and our families could focus on enjoying the day.”

“She’s straightforward, calm and cool, which is exactly what every bride needs!

“I would recommend Joan and Five Grain Events to anyone. She is wonderful and I could not have kept my sanity planning my wedding without her.”
