Everyone's familiar with the University of California, Los Angeles, but how many know about its fabulous event site, the UCLA Faculty Club? Tucked away on the eastern edge of the campus, it's a leafy oasis usually reserved for members only, but it also happens to be available for weddings and special occasions.

Set amongst towering pines and eucalyptus trees, this historically significant example of Mid-Century architecture showcases a dramatic cross-gabled roofline, post and beam construction, and large expanses of glass. Blending beautifully into its woodsy landscape, while effortlessly integrating indoor and outdoor space (à la Frank Lloyd Wright), this striking, recently refreshed venue gives you the style and flexibility you want to create your ideal flow.

A great way to begin your celebration is with an al fresco ceremony on the verdant and sun-dappled California Patio, which is shaded by tall trees. It's also perfect for cocktails and canapés, and you can easily segue to your reception in the adjacent California Room. Filled with natural light, this space features a whitewashed, peaked wood ceiling, and boasts a floor-to-ceiling stone fireplace that adds warmth and a touch of romance to an evening of dinner and dancing.

Another outdoor choice for a cocktail reception is the colorful Rose Garden Patio. Adorned with aromatic rose bushes and terracotta pots filled with seasonal blooms, it overlooks St. Albans Church and Hillel Synagogue. Vine-covered redwood beams overhead and tables shaded by brightly hued umbrellas make this an inviting spot to raise a glass of bubbly.

The A-frame-style Main Dining Room is a stunner with a 24-foot ceiling, horizontal ribbon windows on opposite sides, and floor-to-ceiling glass on a third wall. Large domed light fixtures, trestle beams, and a massive stone fireplace complete the photogenic setting. If your guest list is short, or you prefer an indoor ceremony, there are several other options here, including the Sequoia Room and Courtyard as well as the Library and Playa Lounge. In fact, with 15,000 square feet of space, you're sure to find the right fit.

Their event and catering staff can help you plan your food and drink menus, plus recommend outside vendors you might need. Two on-site dressing rooms are available for your convenience, as well.

Explore the Faculty Club, and you'll discover gorgeous photo backdrops both inside and out. In fact, you and your photographer can snap a few shots around the campus that include some of the iconic older buildings and plazas. And be sure to pose next to the large bronze statue of the school's mascot: the UCLA Bruin. Rumor has it that if you rub the back paw of the bear, you're sure to ace your finals. If he can do that for exams, maybe he can make all your wedding wishes come true, too!
