Why You'll Love This Place

A Here Comes The Guide Wedding Venue Review
  • Built in 1713, this is the oldest surviving public building in Boston, and it played a crucial role in the birth of the nation—the Boston Massacre occurred in its shadow in 1770, and the Declaration of Independence was read aloud for the first time in Boston from its balcony on July 18th, 1776.
  • Intimate ceremonies and receptions are held in the elegant Council Chamber, which is outfitted with meticulous reproduction furnishings and displays that allow guests to experience what the room would have felt like 250 years ago. And because it’s tucked amid the skyscrapers of downtown Boston, you also have plenty of cool photo opportunities on the vibrant surrounding streets.
  • Your rental fees help support Revolutionary Spaces, the non-profit organization that acts as steward for both the Old State House and Old South Meeting House. Their mission, in addition to preserving the history of these seminal buildings, is to allow citizens to explore the struggle that went into creating a free society, and encourage the continuing open exchange of ideas that sustains the practice of democracy.
