Questions and AnswersRead More Show Less
What 3 words best describe your work?Authentic, timeless, clean.
Why should someone hire you?I can talk about the connection we will have, how I get to know you, and how I take my job seriously because it's the best day of your life that I have the privilege of documenting. This is all true. But you should hire me because all you have to do is show up and have fun and enjoy your day. Don't worry about the schedule, the weather, rain, any of that stuff. This is my challenge, not yours. I got you!
Tell us about a favorite, unusual or very interesting moment at a wedding:Something I hear from my couples at the end of almost every wedding is: "This is the best day of my life." As a photographer I remind myself of this at the start of every wedding and I do not take it lightly.
What makes a wedding memorable for you?The energy the guests bring. The connection of the couple. The vulnerability they all share together. This is the good stuff!
What is the best advice you give a couple when planning their wedding?Make it your own. For realsies! It's you and your fiancé's day; not your mom's, not your bff's. Write your own vows and have a friend officiate. (And do a first look so you can enjoy even more of your day together!)
If you could have any superpower on the job, what would it be?My superpower would be to control light and time.
What are 3 words that describe your personality?Optimistic, observant, empathetic.
What's your favorite book/movie/work of art?Moulin Rouge and Goodfellas.
What's your favorite quote?"Try Everything" —from a deceased friend of a friend. Simple. And a great reminder.
Extracurricular activities:Yoga, hiking, traveling, eating, reading, connecting with friends, giving my dog kisses.
What's your favorite way to wind down after a hard day?A hoppy beer and big bowl of popcorn with my main man pots and pans :)
Tell us about your pets, if you have any.I have a rescue pitbull named Dottie and I honestly believe she is the best dog that ever existed in the history of the universe. You may get to meet her when we meet in person! And it's guaranteed you will fall in love with her.
What are some of your favorite places to eat—either everyday spots or special occasion splurges?I'm not going to name specific places but if I go out it's usually for one of these: sushi, pho, a burger and a beer, tacos and guacamole. Or I go back to Philadelphia where I used to live and eat my face off at some of my old favorite places.
