“I felt completely confident with Lisa, she was totally in tune with what I had wanted, everything turned out perfectly!”
“Of all the florists I spoke with, Lisa was the only one who had the brilliant suggestion of doing a mix of some fancier centerpieces with some simpler ones. This helped me stay within my budget, but still gave me the look I wanted.”
“After explaining what I envisioned, she completely understood what I was looking for and expecting. She took my vision and fine-tuned it.”
“From elaborate to simple, Lisa really has a gift for floral design and I would highly recommend her for any event!”

“She is very knowledgeable in her line of work. Even when you have no idea, of your theme or design for your wedding, Lisa can come up with something so beautiful.”
“Lisa is extremely easy to talk to. She met my sister and I at Starbucks near our house and it was like friends having coffee! She offered advice, but made sure not to dominate the decisions.”
“She was very friendly and I felt that she loved her job.”
“Overall, she came up with the entire concept making my job as a bride planning her own wedding much easier.”
“She made the process fun and exciting. Taking on the planning of a whole wedding was very stressful and meeting with Lisa to discuss the flowers was so enjoyable and effortlessly fun. It really reminded me to enjoy this time.”

Questions and AnswersRead More Show Less
What 3 words best describe your work?Creative, fresh, fulfilling.
Tell us about your company name.Growing up in a household that also spoke Spanish, I thought I would give the name a little ethnic flair. I wanted to give the meaning of “pretty flowers”. Flora obviously means flower and linda means pretty, but I didn’t want people to think my name was Linda so Floralisa was born out of that. People always compliment the name so it was a good choice!
Why should someone hire you?Because I treat every client like they are my friend. I would want the best for my friends, and for things to be fair and beautiful. Even the most modest budgets deserve gorgeous flowers on their special day.
What drew you to this field/how did you get started?I actually became a floral designer in high school. I loved my first job so much that I stayed there for almost 10 years before changing to specialized design in weddings/events, and then eventually starting Floralisa.
What are some sources of inspiration or influences on your work?Nature inspires me…just look around. All those beautiful colors in that sunset—wouldn’t that make a gorgeous bouquet? And the blues and grays of a crisp winter day would look stunning in that silver compote. Inspiration is all around us…and best of all, it’s free!
What makes a wedding memorable for you?Hands down it’s the personal touches of the couple. Adding Grandma’s rosary to the bouquet or self-proclaimed coffee addicts having their place cards arranged in a tray of coffee beans. Some couples get really creative and it sticks in my mind.
What is the best advice you give a couple when planning their wedding? To relax and not get uptight about the planning process. It should be fun. Be confident in your vendors and let them use their expertise to your benefit.
What are 3 words that describe your personality?Artistic, caring and focused.
What's your favorite quote?“See genius in your craziness, believe in yourself, believe in your vision, and be constantly prepared to defend those ideas.” —Steve Jobs
If you weren't in your current profession, what would you do instead?Flowers are in my blood, so I don’t think I would be fulfilled in life if I didn’t work in this medium. A distant 2nd would be a baker, but I’d probably decorate my desserts with fresh flowers!
Tell us about your pets, if you have any.My son and I have a tortoise named Koopa Troopa that loves to eat our leftover rose petals.
