What 3 words best describe your work?

Passionate. Detailed. Experienced.

Tell us about your company name.

It took me a bit to come up with my company name. I was afraid the "Sweet" would be misunderstood for a dessert company. But because I added the "Event Planning", I haven't had a problem yet. I knew I didn't want to use my first name so I used my middle name. "Marie" is my middle name, my daughter's middle name, and my granddaughter's middle name. What a great way to keep my legacy of my company going by sharing it with my daughter and granddaughter!

Why should someone hire you?

I am very passionate about what I do. My love for planning comes from my father. Yes, my father: the most creative, funny, and lovable person in the world (of course I am being biased). He always knew how to celebrate and plan the most memorable events ever! I love being able to connect with each and every bride and groom that have hired me on a personal level. We become family, not just a business doing a job. I truly have a great support system and a great team that put forth 110% towards every event and wedding we provide services to. No matter how small or big, I am committed to each client with the same amount of love and compassion to put together the most memorable, beautiful, and stress-free wedding or event!

What drew you to this field/how did you get started?

My father first and confirmed by my husband. My husband was the one that made me officially start my business after many years of planning events for family and friends. He is the muscle behind Sweet Marie's Event Planning (he does all the heavy lifting).

Tell us about a favorite, unusual or very interesting moment at a wedding:

My most favorite moment at a wedding was when the bride asked me to dance with her and the song was my father's favorite song. A very tearful moment!

What makes a wedding memorable for you?

The smiles and tears on the couple's faces when they see their vision come to life.

What is the best advice you give a couple when planning their wedding?

Don't stress! Don't be afraid to ask questions, make changes, think outside the box, or to be different.

If you could have any superpower on the job, what would it be?

To definitely control the wind. NO WIND!

What are 3 words that describe your personality?

Fun. Passionate. Honest.

What's your favorite marriage advice?

Never ever go to bed upset.

Extracurricular activities:

I'm all about my family! Spending as much time with them doing anything fun.

If you weren't in your current profession, what would you do instead?

I used to work in the medical field, so probably that.

What’s your favorite way to wind down after a hard day?

Get myself a burger and some fries.

Tell us about your pets, if you have any.

I have 4 dogs. Yup 4! Two miniature dachshunds, a husky, and a great Pyrenees.
